Very disappointed. Sitting having a lovely drink. Walked through a door on the other side of the bar. I briefly popped my head in the door (another bar on the other side of the door) just to have a quick look out of curiosity and then sat back down. Two minutes later a blond haired girl in a pony tail and a white blouse came over and was outlandishly aggressive. She told me if I go anywhere even near that open door again I would be thrown out of the pub and barred and not allowed to return. I asked politely (and I wasn't sure what exactly was wrong) why but she just repeated her threat even more aggressively barking and screaming at me that it's not allowed telling me she would throw me out. Throw me out. There seemed to be another bar on the other side of the door. I had zero interest in going I to (I had sat back down at my table after all) I failed to understand quite what offence I had seemingly committed. Treating tourists in the rebel county like scolded children this is appalling. Spending money in your establishment and to be spoken to in such a manner is beyond disgusting. Some manners and a basic and civil level of curiosity is expected. Not a hope I would set foot in the place again. If that door is "forbidden" then it shouldn't be left open...
Read moreThis is not a food review but a review of the type of atmosphere and customer service in this bar. Both were absolutely terrible when I was there on Friday evening. The ‘manager’ working that evening had absolutely no customer service skills and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Her colleague along side her working behind the bar had one of the worst attitudes in hospitality I have ever encountered. I did have a respectful a chat with the ‘manager’ about her lack of professionalism and while she did listen, she was unable to offer any reasonable explanation for her behaviour. It’s such a shame to have such unwelcoming and rude staff working in a bar at 7.30 on a...
Read moreCan't believe in the middle of summer no shorts allowed to dine outside!!!!! We were out for a walk on bank holiday Monday afternoon and decided to stop for drinks at Barbarossa where we have dined a number of times. Brian (the manager) refused to seat us, firstly he said no tracksuits allowed, when I stated none of us were wearing tracksuits he said smart dress only. I said there were 4 girls at another table wearing leggings he said it wasn't me it was my husband (wearing cargo shorts) and 13 year old son (wearing Adidas shorts). I then pointed out another customer was wearing shorts he backtracked and offered us a table which I politely refused. Very poor...
