This establishment is a family favourite which we always visit when travelling to Cork. Unfortunately, after yesterday's horrible experience, we won't be returning.
We placed an order of 4 meals, amounting to around €70. We were all enjoying our meal until my mother found a short black hair infused in kofta meat. We didn't make a big deal of the situation because we understand that these things can happen. The rest of us finished our food whilst my mum stopped eating hers and politely informed the waiting staff whilst handing her tray back. We simply wanted them to acknowledge the issue so that they could try to avoid it happening again.
Upon leaving, my mum spoke briefly with the so-called manager of the shop. He left the grill and came over to the counter. My mum explained what had happened, and he immediately went on the defensive. He claims that it was "impossible" that the hair came from them and that it must be one of our hairs. My mum has long brown hair, I was wearing a cap, and my brothers were sitting across the table. So, not only did the manager refuse to take responsibility, but to our shock, he shifted the blame onto us. At that point, I should have stepped in and confronted the man, but we chose to walk away and not make a scene. After less than a minute, with no apology and accusations thrown at us, the manager turns his back and rushes back to his grill. We left the shop in shock and embarrassment, but quickly brushed it off as we tried to enjoy our day of shopping in the city.
The attitude of the manger was completely unacceptable. At no point was he willing to take responsibility for the short hair that was quite clearly stuck inside the meat. Instead, we stood as he pointed the blame at us in front of other customers.
So, what's my takeaway from this whole situation? Unless you're willing to put yourself, friends and family in a potentially similar situation, i would advise you save yourself the embarrassment and disrespect shown by Istanbul management, and find clean and welcoming place to eat elsewhere in the city.
Edit: Below is a picture of the manager (from a previous reviewer), with no hair covering, that coincidentally has the same short black hair found in the meat HE...

I didn’t know what I was gonna order so I decided to ask for recommendations. I told them I could wait until the line was empty , but the staff there were super nice and extremely helpful, giving me their best recommendation even though they were pretty busy.
I went with what they recommended, which was a mix kebab platter (half chicken, half lamb). It also came with garlic sauce, some spicy one (which was very good), salad and some bread underneath it. The meal option also comes with rice/fries. You can also ask it to be a 50/50 mix.
The food was tasty, well-made and pretty good, but I thought that spending almost €17 on this dish (it included a drink) was a bit overpriced for what it is.
The atmosphere was grand. Not much to say, honestly. The design isn’t the best, but it isn’y dirty or anything like that. Just not that visually appealing.
Overall, a 6.5 /...
Read moreHad a really bad experience here recently, which is a pity as I have enjoyed good food from here before. Delays and mistakes happen and I would completely understand that, but not the way the way the staff reacted to the mistake. Pretty unacceptable when you have to ask repeatedly about your €50 order after 30 minutes. The order was clearly missed as the staff all started asking each other about my order number after I asked for an update, then I was lied to and told the delay was the time it took to cook the grilled chicken. Grilled chicken was cooked several times over while waited. But if you are to take was I was told as a fact - it takes over 30 minutes for a grilled chicken order here. I was treated like a fool after an expensive order and long wait. In the end I was also given doner chicken instead the more expensive grilled chicken I had paid for and was given as the reason for the delay. A very...
