Dinos — Restaurant in Cork

I went in to Dino's Ballincollig today, the 14/9/24. This was the second bad experience I have had with the manager herself, she is extremely ignorant and lacks manners. The first bad experience was last weekend, the manager took my order for 2 potatoe pies, when I was waiting another member of staff called me over to the other till to pay for my food, I went over and I told her what I ordered, the manager came up behind her and said to me "Your food isn't ready, if you move over and wait HERE I will call you when it's ready", her attitude was ignorant. When I got my food I asked for a small bit of salt, a different staff member was serving me at this point, she laced it with salt, I believe she was a trainee so I didn't say anything to her. Today I went in and I asked for a breast in a bun with cheese, the manager was taking my order, I asked how long roughly it would be because I needed to move my car and she said she doesn't know, I said I'll be back in about 5-10 minutes because I need to run to my car, she said "no thats too long", I then said I just need to run outside, she then said, with an attitude, "stay here and I will call you when your food is ready". Firstly, it's a beautiful setting, very pleasing to the eye. Here is a great selection on both the daily menu & the lunchtime menu. The food was extremely disappointing except for the kids fish & chips. The kids burger was hardly visible in the bun, it was so small. The chips that were with them tasted of fish which to me means the fish and the chips are deep fried in the same oil & being 1pm in the day and not being very busy, it meant the oil hadn't been changed recently. The panini was just about toasted on the outside but the ingredients were not warm. The cheese had not melted & the ham used looked like plastic. We were there for an hour but we felt under pressure to order something else or leave and they were hanging around the table a lot (it wasn't like they were busy and needed the table). I ordered chocolate brownie from their dessert menu to be told they didn't have any but the girl recommended the chocolate cake so I went with that. The cake arrived after being heated in the microwave so all the filling poured out on the plate..... it's the 1st time a restaurant has microwaved a chocolate cake for me. .... not recommended! Went to eat at Dinos Ballincollig this evening and even though I never normally leave reviews good, bad or indifferent.. I just could not believe the behaviour of the woman we dealt with and I'm letting you know as if it was my business I would want to know. She was beyond rude to me, to the other customers, and to her colleagues. She spent the entire time we were there snapping at everyone and created a really uncomfortable atmosphere for customers and staff alike. Your ordering/queueing system really needs to be looked at as it is inefficient. Each customer is expected to know exactly where they and everyone else in the room is in the queue at all times, and God forbid you don't anticipate exactly when your order will arrive and make the mortal sin of standing 3 feet to the right of the till and not directly in front of it as there will be more tut-tutting from her. If this woman is in a management role you need to know she has absolutely no customer care or leadership skills and is not creating a positive enviornment for her team who were clearly doing their best. I would suggest sitting the entire team down to identify service shortfalls and resolve them together as left like it is you are going to...
