Starbucks Ballincollig — Restaurant in Cork

Loved this Starbucks as it’s my local one but I must say the staff lately are shocking . Have been considering writing this review after numerous issues lately for example the staff member making the drink of the person in front of me was told what they were using was out of date and they’d have to make a new batch. Completely just stood there for ages and then strolled around to make more . Didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing at all. Then took forever just to make my iced coffee only for me to realise when I’d left the milk I was given was also gone off with lumps all around it. Another time I have gone in then there was just 3 staff members standing around chatting staring at the cups not bothering to make them with one joking about forgetting to put coffee in a drink . Didn’t even make it properly then in the end and wasn’t even full . Never had an issue with any staff in here before but these new ones are awful , slow paced and clearly cannot do the job properly. I’m not mad on supporting huge corporations but seeing as Ballincollig has very little options on a Monday for anywhere relaxed to sit and have a coffee I chose to come here. The building is a beautiful old building so of course Starbucks chose to buy it up. It’s nice inside, relaxed atmosphere. I don’t enjoy drinking coffee from a takeaway cup wasn’t given another option. Coffee is ridiculously overpriced. Staff are very slow and quite rude, they seem to have little idea of what they are doing. The tables are messy, even though when I went it was quiet they appear to just not clear away tables. For the price of coffee the service does not match up....

Without knowing that they were closing in 10', me and my husband came for a coffee. We ordered 2 coffees and one cake each. We had just sat down when one of the girls came to us and said that they were closing. I told her that we had just arrived and we had not been informed that they were closing. She didn't let me talk, she just kept on saying "I didn't place your order, we are closed" very disrespectfully. I suggested that it would be nice for the next time to let customers know in advance, and she shouted "we are closed".
