Elm Café — Restaurant in County Clare

Not good. Not good at all. Ordered their bacon sandwich that comes with ballymaloe relish served in crusty bread and a potato cake on the side. The only thing that was right was the potato cake. Fatty bacon in standard cheap bread and some kind of cheap burger relish that made the bread all soggy. Not ballymaloe relish as advertised. But according to one waitress this has been brought to attention before, but ignored. We also ordered a cappuccino, again terrible. It was like a cup of warm milk a weak latte with extra milk kind of thing and fat globules floating ontop. But they tried to make up for this after ignoring us for 10 mins after we complained, by trying to do another sandwich yes just one between us, even though we both did not eat either our sandwiches or our coffees. But this was only after my wife talked to another waitress. Trying to tell the waitress that we didn't want another sandwich was an awkward moment to say the least, we had to argue that we did not want another one and at this point 20 mins had passed from our original complaint. Although we didn't really touch our food or our coffees we was still charged, I'm not sure what for as it was for as it was just less than five euro so maybe they charged us for the potato cakes...

I have been here for lunch lots of times and never had an issue until today, my friend asked for a plain salad, no dressing and first time got the wrong salad, second time , it arrived with dressing despite making it very clear, then she was told rather rudely that changing it for what she asked for would mean being charged for two salads as the order information was wrong, I spoke to the manager who mumbled something about a replacement and when I repeated what she had been told, simply shrugged his shoulders and walked off, in my job , I was led to believe the customer is important that is unless you work...

Iv never left a review of anywhere good or bad but i feel compelled to about here. While waiting to be be seated, the staff member, Ruchi, just said sit wherever you want, she does not look happy in her job. My wife ordered the mini breakfast. She asked to swap the tomato for bacon, ruchi said no, the menu says eggs as you like, she was not asked how she would like them. I got the pancakes and of the 3 i could have used 2 of them to hammer nails into a wall. Then when paying, no smile, no thank you from guess who....ruchi. horrible...
