Kernans Bistro & Coffee House — Restaurant in County Donegal

I originally gave this restaurant a 4 star review but my last few visits have been less than ideal, restaurant is regularly very busy with a fair few children being noisy. Wait times upwards of 20 minutes to just put in your order and another 30+ just to get the food which can be expensive for what it is.

The wait staff while usually friendly don't really give you an update on how long the wait will be or ask you if you want a drink while waiting to order.

The premises is also very small and confined which doesn't really help when the place is busy. Very unfriendly accessibility wise for the disabled.

2 of us went in on Saturday morning for a quick bite to eat as we were on a time schedule order was taken and first thing one of our cups taken out to us was not properly clean so sent it back then one of us got what was like a rusty tea spoon (did not need it so just let it be) the bap one of us ordered did not have the sauce on it as ordered and the extra butter ordered for the table never arrived and the cooked breakfast was very basic quality we had direct contact with 4 different staff and not one of them asked if everything was ok or not . we were on a schedule so jut paid and went...

Scolding hot coffee & sold filthy coffee dregs, which, burnt my mouth quite badly. Later as it finally cooled, it tasted like boiling water coffee water dregs, not coffee at all! The first coffee was actual passable coffee, I was served by a girl that appeared to be new & nervous. I think the coffee machine was self cleaning and she mistook it for making a coffee. I paid 3.5 euros for scolding hot coffee machine cleaning water, and an ulcerated tongue.
