I can only award one star as there are no options for no stars! We choose Dillon's for our Christmas work night out. We were assured a drink on arrival, and a ticket to the draws that were apparently going to be taking place that night. We arrived, no drink, no tickets, no signs of a draw. Just a majorly overpacked restaurant. We had to ask to be seated and were sat right next a speaker which could easily have shadowed the noises of a Boeing 747!!! We then waited 45 minutes for someone to eventually come and proceed with taking our order. Another wait and our food finally arrived. Words fail me as to the how poor it was. Both in taste and presentation. The main course followed with the same level of enthusiasm. Not once during the meal were we checked on to see if we were happy with the standard, and if I was going to be picky ... There was water glasses on the table but we weren't offered a jug of water at any point. Now on to dessert ... Which was laughable. Mine was stale, with no taste or warmth. But that's not the worst of it. My partner's Christmas pudding was still frozen solid! We finally got the attention of the poor waitress and asked "if it was supposed to be warmed up". The waitress, who's fault it wasn't, replied with "oh im sorry, did you not want it hot" ... At which point we could only say It's frozen! Her face dropped. ALL this was brought to the attention to the lady on reception after another customer had finished bringing her similar complaints forward. The lady on reception listened to the complaints, I expect she was used to it by that point of the evening. And then just simply swung the debit card machine our way. No apology, no offer of a free drink, just a "we'll send a survey email out" I shall never set foot in this establishment again. Our work team joked that we are going to McDonald's for our Christmas meal next year .... Could be a...
Read moreBooks through booking.com the lady in the hotel later ringed after the booking to state room no longer available that she can "upgrade" us to a 2 bedroom apartment wee thought "upgrade" that's nice wee arrived at the hotel to find 1st that the price agreed via booking.com no longer applies (exchange rate pounds to euros) the lady tried to charge extra after stating the suppose upgrade was for the same price. So just paid in euros! Then got to the apartment an genuinely you wouldn't let your pet dog stay in it. The apartment was stinking the decor was ruff ,dead flys, hairs, stains" lights not working just genuinely terrible. So wee decided to go back to reception an the lady agreed with everything wee complain about an did absolutely nothing but says sorry. Wee went back to booking.com an it states other rooms was still available the lady stated their was no rooms left. This genuinely just spoiled the night from start to finish. Genuinely I'd honestly avoid staying here at all costs. It's worst than a back packers/hostel an 3 times...
Read moreStayed here for 2 nights as part of Leger Tour of Ireland. Rooms are spacious and very clean with tea & coffee making facilities included. Staff are polite and helpful. We liked the location, cheap drinks from the bar and friendliness of the Hotel. Breakfast was ample on both mornings. We had to wait a little longer for starters to arrive on the first night but once the 3 courses were served we thoroughly enjoyed everything. I have to point out that we were very impressed with the young servers in the restaurant. everything was organised and you could tell that they were well trained and could cope with managing 5 tables plus during a busy service. The location is in the main street of Letterkenny. We tried to look for entertainment in the local bars after dinner but sadly were told only Monday, Wednesday Friday & Saturday are good nights t catch any Irish music.|Another plus is the Ritual toiletries you get provided in the bathrooms. Would definitely...
