Went there last night for the first time since lockdown eased (though we did get wonderful takeaway pizzas every week in between). I must say, the changes they have made to the layout of the bistro and restaurant are lovely and make it even more intimate, and you feel very safe as well in the current climate. As for the food - just WOW!! We had the catch of the day - Sea Bream and the Lobster Tonnarelli Special. Two of the finest dishes we’ve ever had there, if not the best (which is saying something as we’ve had a lot of great meals there). The staff, as normal, were very attentive and professional (with a bit of craic thrown in). Well done all.

NOT 5* but a good experience overall. Had to wait for a while for the waiter to take the order. Food arrived before the wine. REALLY GUYS? Came here for the mushroom risotto and wasn't surprised. It was rich and well balanced. However, I could benefit from a bit more white wine a bit longer in the cook. My wife's lobster ravioli was a real surprise. Astonishingly tasty. Great combination of ingredients and well balanced sauce. Well done here guys. The apple tart, to our taste, was slightly acidic and sour. Good Nero d'Avola, Montepulciano and Rose wines. Price is similar to competitors. May come back to try a pizza.

Compared to the other Italian restaurants, the quality of food was lower and we didn’t like it. I‘m not from Italy, but we all know that Carbonara should be made of spaghetti not sth like penne! I have this habit to finish my dish, so I ate it, but it was tasteless and kind of bitter. One of us also ordered a pasta with chicken which the chicken was smelly. Three of us ordered lasagna, burger and soup, which were better than pastas. But the staff and atmosphere of the restaurant were very nice. At the end, because we told them about smelly chicken, they didn’t count that dish in the bill.

I recently dined at Basilico Italian Restaurant, and here’s my experience: • Order: I tried the Calzone Pollo 12”, and it was delicious. The portion size was generous, and the flavors were spot-on. • Environment: The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but it can get quite crowded. Unfortunately, the tables for two are a bit congested, which can make it challenging to have a private conversation. There is a lot of movement around the table. The space between the tables is too narrow. • Reception: The reception was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming. • Food Experience: Here’s where things get a bit tricky. The waiting time to get a table was longer than expected. I recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends. Also, I noticed that the glasses weren’t properly cleaned. After placing the order, it took an additional 30 minutes for the food to arrive, resulting in a total wait time of 40-50 minutes.

Overall, Basilico Italian Restaurant offers tasty food, but improvements are needed in terms of table spacing, cleanliness, and wait times. If you’re patient and appreciate authentic Italian flavors, it’s...

Bit of a mixed bag here, food in my opinion was fabulous both the muscles and risotto were gorgeous and the rest of the family enjoyed their food too. Now the not so good points, the service, one word could describe it and that's rude with a capital R. Our waiter would only use single words which were practically shouted at us ..... Ready?, Chips?,Garlic?, Drink? When my pint was brought down to the table my beermat was thrown down onto table from a good distance. Not once did he come over to check if we needed anything or if everything was ok. He repeatedly ignored my wife when she was trying to get his attention and when she finally managed to get his attention for the bill he mumbled something in Italian under his breath. He really seemed not to want to be there , this was not some young person just doing a job this was an older gentleman who should have known and...

A shame we couldn’t even try the food as we were looking forward to it, but the service was really disappointing. The place was fairly quiet with maybe 4 or 5 tables occupied and, as we were told on the phone we didn’t need a reservation I’m assuming there were no reserved tables. Someone walked us all the way to the back, pointed us a table just beside the toilets, landed the menus on the table, said something that we barely got and left. I might be wrong but a feel if there’s an option a family or anyone on holidays would rather seat somewhere else. The whole time, since reception we didn’t feel welcome at all, I understand that might be a lot going on and we of course don’t expect a red carpet on arrival, but the minimum engagement from the waitress would be appreciated. In the end we decided to leave and had a great meal and overall experience...
