Hello All. I went to Santoor Restaurant on Monday 31st July 2023. I took a seat in my usual table to the left by the window. Three Waiter's approached the table while I was on the phone and made it clear that I was not allowed to sit at the four seater and needed to sit on a two seater table. There was no 'Hello' or didn't even bother to ask me if anyone else was joining me which could have been very likely for anyone walking in alone. I was alone but I was getting takeaway for my partner and friend after I finished my meal but I didn't bother explaining this as I was 100% leaving from their initial attitude. It was 8.40 pm and there was three other ladies on 1 table and the entire restaurant was empty. The ladies also asked me why I was not allowed to sit where I chose too (Thank you ladies!) The waiters said 'It is not worth changing this table cloth and resetting for one person'. I totally understand that one person should not sit on a four seater table if the restaurant was in any way busy and if it was earlier in the evening but this was far from the case. Their approach, rudeness and attitude will ensure I will never return to Santoor and I will make this situation very vocal across Galway! Waiters, learn to treat everyone with respect that walks into Santoor in the future unlike you did with a once very...
Read moreOnly if I could submit this with a lesser star. An absolute unprofessional behavior by the staff pretending to be the manager at this restaurant.
We (group of 8) called prior to ask if we could have a table at the restaurant which was agreed and welcomed. Later on reaching the restaurant, the pretending manager said that they had a booking for the table due to which we would be asked to leave in 1 hour approx. That was very disappointing but we still agreed.
Later, while we were trying to order food, we were pointed out 5 to 7 times that we were supposed to leave in about 1 hour and that we will need to hurry. I pointed out that it was getting a bit rude and that we had already agreed that we would leave when the time was near. The guy got furious at me for saying this and started criticizing us for ordering limited food. We barely had started making an order nor we had enough time to order and eat so much food.
The guys started raising his voice and we had to leave the place. An exceptionally unpleasant experience to so called an 'Indian' restaurant which represented nothing Indian. I would suggest avoiding the place if you are looking for a...
Read moreThe place itself is very nice and cosy, but I was not impressed with the service at this restaurant. It's the little things that add up. For example, the server walked over and took away the dressings for our papadums without asking if we were finished (I still had a full papadum on my plate). There were heating trays at every table, but the candles beneath the food were never lit. We were never asked if we liked the food or needed anything further. My companion's food was not at all as the server had described. The pieces of lamb were way overcooked and hard to chew and swallow. Even though the place is quite dark, we had to ask to have the decorative candle at our table lit (I looked around and noticed that no one else had their candle lit either, even after we dropped the hint). So when it finally came to dessert, we politely...
