Over rated. I didn't feel welcome at all. IN CONCLUSION, PORTERHOUSE IS A PLACE THAT I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND TO ANY TOURIST OR IRISH RESIDENT.

Edit2: Basically, you are justifing your employee rudeness towards me with the fact that you were busy. I am sorry but I don't buy that. Someone who is not smiling and looked pissed of from the time I sit down at the table is kind of a red flag. You are telling me that I stayed 2 hours and a half, that is true but there is a way of asking someone to move out from his table ( Also have your heard about multi-socket ?). So for you, Is that ok to be treated like an outkast in a pub/restaurant and would you like to go back to that place ? I think you should learn one thing or two about customer experience. Your attitude is just unbelievable. You and your staff are so untitled and don' thave manners. Also the breakfast was not even that good. As a french person who went to many restaurants (with proper food) I can give you one lesson or two on how to cook proper food, how to run a Pub/restaurant, how to be polite and obliging to your customers.

Edit. I was not expecting that you were about to defend your employee for her lack of professionalism. She didn't ask me to move to the bar at first, it is only when I asked her if I was being kicked out that she gave me the option. Anyway, I am not surprised by your feedback. You don't prioritize your customers. I will leave the review as it is and leave your to your foolishness.

I asked her nicely to charge my earphone, she told me that she was busy, after waiting for 15mins I asked her colleague who did it instantly and told me to leave the table because it was booked. We went here a few Saturdays ago, I pre-booked a table for 2 for 6pm.

Upon entering the waitress told us they needed the table back for 8pm, they put us at a table for 4 people (there were still 2/3 tables free with seating for 2/4 people). We ordered starters & mains and got dessert at the end. During the meal we felt like we were being rushed, not even a minute after starters were given to us they asked us "how was the food?", I hadn't started on the dish. The MINUTE the cutlery was placed on the plate, a server literally came in and took out plates while asking us were we done. We got the garlic mushrooms and they were DELICIOUS.

While waiting on our mains, we joked were we allowed to go to the bathroom, just felt like we would be rushed for that too.

We both got burgers for mains, chicken for me and beef for him. Both were gorgeous. He finished his faster than me (normal) literally as I was putting the last bite of my burger into my mouth (my fingers were still midway to my mouth 😅) a server came over with her hands going for our plates asking, were we done. With my mouth full himself answered her saying "ah I think we'll need a few more minutes, she still has chips left".

For dessert he got the cookie brownie and I got the crumble again delicious food but we basically felt we had to wolf it down and leave.

We were in at 6pm and left around 7:15/20pm. There were 4/5 empty tables while we were eating our meal so I don't understand the urgency to get us out for 8pm.

All this just took the enjoyment out of the meal, the food was delicious and would recommend the food but just didn't feel...

We have been here many times, the food and service were fine.

The food was nice, but the service was outrageous. The blonde-haired waitress was either having a very bad day or something was wrong! She was already talking nonsense while ordering the drink. If you don't understand wines, don't say anything.

She also just threw the food on the table. As someone who doesn't even care…

My brother reported that Medum rare steak was completely overcooked! He got another one 15 minutes later which was fine.

Afterwards, she walked around nervously and handed it to another colleague at the table. The guy tried to improve the situation, but it didn't improve the situation much... Thanks to him, this was the best point of the evening. If you hate your job so much,avoid the restaurant! 👎🏻 The service in general was terrible people with closed-off attitudes, rude, and clearly unhappy with her job.
