Oran Tandoori — Restaurant in County Galway

This place was unreal. Literally someone pinch me it was the best Indian food I've ever had. Even better than the food, the people and their service. We are Americans over here on holiday and I could not believe the hospitality. Both my wife and I are fairly novice at navigating a legit Indian menu so she played it safe with the butter chicken and I took the recommendation of the waiter who was awesome (they all were) and got the medium spiced Murgh Jaipuri which was something of a tomato based curry chicken. We also got the garlic naan and the rice. Way worth it because it had the perfect flavor to mop up all the other perfect flavors from the plate! The manager sent out a chicken appetizer on the house. I wish I knew the name of it but it was great too. We finished off the meal with a shot of flaming Sambuca. If you want amazing food and above and beyond service go eat here. If you like authentic Indian food, EAT HERE! We live in an area that has some top notch Indian restaurants and got a recommendation for Oran Tandoori when we were here on vacation. EXCELLENT! I ordered Lamb Vindaloo (extra hot), my wife ordered Sag Paneer (mild), and we shared the Peshwari Naan. Their vindaloo was the real deal - the correct complex flavor, and they made it extra spicy hot the way I requested it. (They can adjust the heat spicier or milder depending on your taste, so don’t let my spicy preference scare you away). The Naan and Sag Paneer were also excellent.

A good location for Indian. Ordered for takeaway and initially wanted a Lamb Phall (not on menu and unavailable which was fine) but got a Lamb Kolhapuri as was supposed to be extra hot, Mushroom Pilau and Coriander Naan. Asked for the curry extra spicy on the phone/tried to confirm at the counter when collecting but was told it comes as is and they will not make extra spicy in case that it is too spicy unless customers are repeat customers in which case can be catered for. The curry definitely could’ve been a lot spicier (preference) but flavour was decent and similarly the rice/naan was good also. Would return if spice level can be catered for.
