Went in here for lunch this week and we were waiting over 10 minutes for our order to be taken,.....then over 30 minutes for food to be brought out. For lunch you only get an hour, so this left very little time to eat and it wasn't even busy! There was just one or two other tables. I ordered the fish and chips and it was dreadful. Bland taste, even to the chips. (How can you mess up chips?!) The fish was a disgrace- fish should be flavorful and white when you cut it open- my fish (supposedly hake) was cheap, pink, and the batter had not cooked properly. It was disgusting. Also weird taste from the little tub of mushy peas given. Had to leave it back. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel that this place (just newly opened) and the chef/owner are taking the piss. Honestly, how can you mess up fish and chips to such a degree? Your website says, and I quote, -"Our head chef, Harry, has over 15 years of experience in the industry and has assembled an excellent team in our kitchen. Every dish that leaves our galley is crafted with passion and attention to detail. We take pride in using fresh and locally sourced ingredients to create innovative and delicious dishes that will tantalize your taste buds."
-Please!
Even the tartare sauce tub looked like it had been sitting out of the fridge for a long time- it had a gross film on top of it.
Avoid here if you want good food. Unfortunate....decor looks promising....

The âcrispy baconâ was rubbery and swimming in a pool of grease. The sausages were the cheapest of the cheap and I only ate them as I was starving due to not being able to find anywhere else for breakfast. The toast was white, the beans mushy and the black pudding was undercooked and bland. Also, whatever brown sauce they leave on the tables is next to inedible. I had low expectations for a place with a name like âcaptainâs galleyâ but to say these I was overly optimistic at that says it all. I must say the staff seemed to be trying despite being sorely short from what I could see. This place needs a name change, a new (and competent) chef and to reassess where they source their ingredients from. I wasnât expecting an enlightening culinary experience by any means, but there is a bare minimum standard of quality, and this place has...

Prices were very reasonable for the quality offered. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal in a warm and...
