Spice India Athlone — Restaurant in County Westmeath

I wanted to take a moment to share my experience at Spice India Restaurant. My family and I booked 13 seats in advance and were pleased with the table arrangements. The ambiance was lovely, with a calm and quiet atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience.

We ordered a variety of dishes, including parotta, kappa biriyani, Hyderabadi biriyani, idiyappam, chicken curry, chicken roast, and beef roast as main dishes. For starters, we enjoyed Chicken 65, chilli chicken, Dragon Chicken, prawn tempura, and Tandoori chicken. The flavors of each dish were exceptional, providing an authentic taste of Indian cuisine.

However, there were a couple of minor issues. The chicken curry did not meet our expectations in terms of taste. Additionally, the second serving of Hyderabadi biriyani was initially undercooked. We appreciate the prompt response from your team in replacing the dish promptly. Overall, the service we received was exceptional, although there were a few minor hiccups like couple of missing orders, the food took nearly 45 min and the filter coffee was served a bit later than expected. Additionally, the complimentary items were initially only provided to half of our family, but this was quickly rectified once we brought it to the staff's attention. The toilets were OK. When asked regarding a baby changing table the girl said they don't have one but when went to one of the toilet room there was one. The staff should know what they have in their workplace a good orientation is needed.

On a positive note, I really appreciated that the restaurant did not rush us out, even though we stayed past closing time. It was a nice touch that allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation without feeling pressured to leave. Despite this, we had a wonderful dining experience at Spice India Restaurant and will definitely be returning in the future

The food is absolutely fantasic. However, under no circumstances get the food delievered! Im a regular who always collects my food but got it delivered today. I've recommended the athlone restaurant to a large number of people over the past couple of years and quite a few have tried it but won't go back because they have been less than pleased with the delivery service. Unfortunately, at least one item will be missing from the delievery, usually something quite important too. They seem to have an issue on the online ordering also where you dont have the option to choose rice or naan with the dish. So if you want the naan with the dish then you're gonna have to pay for both separately whereas one should come free. If you pay for the dish and pay for a naan then you will be left with no rice and just dipping your naan in a tub of sauce! Really its a basic thing to have rice with the meal but it seems to escape them. If you order and go in to collect then you can say it to them and you'll get the rice included. Otherwise, you'll be left like me and quite a few of the people i recommeded them to, you'll be sending quite a sum on food to be delivered but left rustling through the presses looking for some rice to cook to go with the meal you just bought!! Not worth the hassle! Go to the silver oak instead. Or if your passing ballinasloe, then go to Zaiqa restaurant......

Absolute disgrace i cant give zero stars if i could i would I'll never get food from here again and it's no fault of the delivery driver all down to the restaurant I ordered food for delivery at 6:32 pm it didn't arrive till 10:00 pm the restaurant only gave the driver an eircode not a physical address and it brought him to the wrong house the driver couldn't get through the my phone as the signal was bad I had been in contact with the restaurant multiple times throughout the evening asking about my order and I was told that my order was on the way another hour past still no sign the driver had brought the food back to the restaurant as the food had gone cold and still the restaurant never tried to contact me even after i had rang off a different phone and number and I was assured the food was hot and was remade I thought I had sorted the issue on the phone when I had rang after i was passed around on the phone from a worker to delivery driver to manager after i was told they could not understand me and i eventually received my order it was not just my food but also my family's which was not cheap may I add to buy but the food was freezing cold and was just not nice at all not redone and the order wasn't even right after all of that so very very poor customer service and very...
