This honestly has to be one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Ever! It has also got to be one of the best steak houses in the entire country, and that is an understatement, because the quality and depth of flavour of the food is truly outstanding. My own litmus test for this is whether I feel like I could make similar or better food at home, and not in a million years could I make anything as tasty as what we enjoyed last night. My girlfriend and I shared empanadas and two rib eye wagu steaks with some marrow mash and garlic butter, then an assortment of ice cream to finish. From start to finish, the experience was flawless — from the warm welcome at the door to the last spoonful of dessert. The service was attentive, professional and never overbearing. We found the setting very beautiful, despite being a quiet Friday night we both felt like we wanted to stay all night. Every element on the plate was considered and executed with precision — the steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, PER-FEC-TION!!! (No seriously, I never knew steak could be this tasty). The marrow mash was indulgent without being heavy, and the garlic butter added just the right amount of punch.
The desert was simple, no fuss and the ice cream was beautifully light and fluffy. Our empanadas were also delicious, with wagyu and wrapped in a tasty pastry and a home made salsa, they were perfect.
It’s rare these days to be genuinely surprised by how good a place is — but this wasn’t just good, it was memorable, and we will definitely be back! We’re already planning our return visit, and if you’re even remotely a fan of steak, you owe it to...
Read moreHonestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had while out for dinner. We ordered a medium rare steak and chips which took over an hour to get to us. When it finally came to us both of the steaks were completely undercooked so we sent them back. They were back on the table with us less then two minutes later and they were still undercooked so we called the (very rude) waitress back over and she told us that we should’ve asked for them medium if we weren’t happy with them. It then took them another 10 minutes to cook the steak at which point they were completely over cooked to the point all the seasoning was burnt and the meat was braised as it was cooked for so long. We told the waitress that we didn’t want them and if we could just get the bill for the also undercooked chips and drinks that we got. At this point the chef came out to us and showed us a picture that he got from google what a medium rare steak looked like and tried to tell me that the extremely over cooked steak was a medium rare. At this point we were then asked to leave the premises and they wouldn’t allow us to pay for the chips and drinks as they just wanted us out of the restaurant. As a person who dines out on a weekly basis I have never experienced such an uncomfortable dinner in my life. The staff were unbelievably rude and could not take any form of criticism. I can happily say I’d never dine there...
Read moreWow, what a treat 1810 was. Visited last night 17th September and was blown away. We were walking down Pearse Street after parking the car absolutely starving and just popped in. Had never even heard of the place.
We ordered off the tapas menu, we got lamb skewers, beef empanadas chorizo and argentinian black pudding and the piri piri chicken croquettes. Down to the garnish on the side, all of the dishes were excellent. So tasty. We also got patatas bravas and chips on the side and both were superb. The chocolate fondant and lemon prosecco desserts were a perfect end to a sensational meal.
Atmosphere was great all round, lighting perfect and lovely Latin style music playing made this experience a complete pleasure of all the senses.
The lady and the young man who served us were very pleasant and the service was very smooth. I could not recommend this beautiful establishment enough. An absolute gem in the heartland of...
