Bar service is slow, food service is not near up to standard, the amount of people in the venue is not reflective of the service as in it could be very quiet but there are still a lot of errors. It seems like disorganised chaos in there at times. Me or one of my group have been given the wrong order as in someone else's food the two times we have have been. And when staff realised, they didn't even bring what we had ordered, we just didn't say anything because the girls were getting complaints off other people.. the girls were v nice but seem to be under huge pressure.I have seen people sending food back, but that can happen anywhere.the food is grand. I waited 20 minutes another day just to buy a voucher. Has great potential as a nice looking bar but service would need to improve ten fold.
My main concern re the pub is that we were let down HUGELY a couple of hours before my babies christening. Was basically given a seating area for only 2 hours for our guests and then our full party would have to be moved, I had not been informed of this upon booking even though the manager tells me we were.. We would have went elsewhere as we had other options. And contrary to the reply on my sister's review on trip advisor we 110 percent were not told we only had the area for two hours.. People would only have been fed and then being told to move, it would have ruined the atmosphere completely and seperate the crowd. I wouldn't have moved the whole christening to a different venue adding huge stress to the day if we had of been told this. It suited us to have the christening there due to church next door. Myself and my husband had to make at least 20 calls to move things and organise a new venue with a few hours notice. I'm sorry but no one books a party for 2 hours, so it's v unfair the manager keeps saying we were told because we were not.. Why would anyone put themselves through that uneccessary stress of movin the event while tryin to get yourself and 2 young babies organised for something they had been told..
I dont need a response, I would have just liked an apology for the stress caused on a special day to us.. No responsibility taken for your mistake.. Mistakes happen and I get that I would have rathered been told there was a mistake then putting the...
Read moreHaving visited Sandyford house for over 20 yrs , back in the day when you could buy a bottle of wine in the off-licence and consume during your meal in the pub. I visited several weeks ago for lunch and it was excellent. As a result, I made a reservation for 4 for a meal at 4pm. Could not have been a worse day. Horrendous rain showers, but felt we had committed to a reservation and went ahead. It poured out of the heavens but we were dry under the umbrellas. We were told kitchen was having a problem and all was switched off so we just had a drink. About 45 minutes later we were offered a very restrictive menu. Basically fish sausage goujons and chips. Not anything I would choose, but we chose nonetheless. We received our meal at about 5pm. A party member chose a dessert and coffee at half 5!and we were told at that stage we needed to vacate the table at 5.50. When the dessert and coffee arrived at 5.50 we were told in no uncertain terms to leave!! The waitress was very loud and aggressive. We explained, due to kitchen difficulties, our food had arrived very late and also our dessert and coffee had just come to the table. We were told to leave the table as it needed to be cleaned for next party. We left our drinks, coffee and dessert. I will never, I repeat NEVER , revisit this place. What a dramatic change in tone. I have never felt so insulted. We could easily have cancelled as the the weather was quite horrendous. But felt obligated to go as we had booked and restaurants are struggling. I will bring my business elsewhere, where they value their customers. Totally...
