I reviewed the reviews in the area before deciding to order and based upon I gave it a bash for a first time try out, I had pre ordering for a convenient time to suit both me and my Partners meeting up times and to surprise her and treat us both with a different food experience.
Firstly our order came at 8oclk had been pre ordered online for 9:40 ( as I was not present until ) hence the pre-order time.
Upon this unarranged delivery time this was expressed civilly by my Partner to be greeted with the flavour of rudeness and discussed by the deliver man!! accompanied with an aggressive tone as he tore off and ripped the delivery docket from our food parcel saying "If you don't want it I'm not waiting around in an aggressive tone and physical manner " as he left with an opinion of blame upon us and a taste of the above aggression as he stormed off with the food. "A very nice appetizer to start with".
being left stunned my Partner rang the premises directly & rightly to complain. Apologies were given with acceptance & recognised as our order being correct with the online record and assurances of correction and personal delivery by what we assumed as the Sup/Manager lady as my Partner was not having this distasteful behaviour and man deliver again ever.
The delivery then came on time and by a gentleman apologetic and mannerly, a really nice man (but not as told by the lady supervisor to be delivered by herself).
so anyhow!! food delivered finally as asked and paying the full premium for the experience, lets talk of the food.
the food was "nice" we enjoyed it like we would any other average place but for the exception of being more pricey and over valued in our opinion.
our main was very nice "bangkok street" our ribs were dry, not sticky as per description (well under average ) and our Spring role was Nice and average, but a thick pastry not thin and crispy with both being meagre, again just our opinion. Would rather taste over volume as why I based my decision to try out a first check and again conscience to not try the full Sushi experience just yet!! but to sample quality as per menu for a first try basis.
Based on this and my Partners experience we will not be ordering ever again as its left its bad taste for us both all in all.
just an opinion and food for...
Read morePaid €50 for 2 stir fries, small starter to share and soft drinks. Most Dundrum restaurants charge less. So why dine here in industrial estate just 2 Luas stops away? Or why not in town, it only takes 30min?
Let's start from the beginning. Parking is really only good for 4 customers without breaking the rules and blocking each other. Sure there's other options within 5min walk.
Building on the outside looks uninviting, industrial storage right beside it. Inside stairs had litter, electrical cabling on the way up looks questionable to say the least. So far feels like a temporary container structure rather than a place to dine in. Inside feels ok-ish ignoring that all details are badly finished or not maintained. Eg. partition dividing restaurant looks more of a beginner diy than tradesman job. I wonder what is fire safety like? Only one narrow path zigzagging out through stairs.
Then the pricing - I can get same or in some cases lower prices in city centre. It feels like a questionable take-away, so why the high pricing? It is not a premium experience, the prices should be much lower on average and they should definatelly invest into decor and presentation.
Food presentation was nothing out of this world, staff was good, taste OK. Your average dinning place, nothing to remember the place by.
I keep complaining about the price but if they want a customer to walk to a diner in the industrial estate and ignore all questionable build and instalation work they better present in the best way and price well so you could forget the former and cling on the latter.
Maybe during dark winter evenings it all blends in and you can't spot these details. I won't be visiting to know but I just hope...
Read moreWe made a reservation for 7 people, all of us are great fans of Musashi restaurant and visited often Dublin centre locations. This place unfortunately was far from original flavours or service. All of us barely touched the food as it was so bland, (although we were super hungry after all day activities), nevertheless service has been very poor too. Instead of Grilled Hot chicken Ramen I got plain chicken ramen and when I pointed out the wrong dish, I received extra Thai chili and little bottle of chilli oil drops to add. Once we were served main courses, waitress asked if everything is OK, we obviously said 'all good' as nothing else was missing. As soon as we started to eat we all soon realised all meals were bland and different from what we expected comparing to other Musashi locations. 3 people ordered ramen in total - all were water-based instead of broth and tasteless. 2 guys got red curry, one with vegetables( completely raw) and another with prawns - 4 prawns in whole main course. Seabass was nicely cooked but lacking flavours so the girl took it home to finish cooking it herself so not to waste food. Waiter didn't show any sign of understanding, although confirmed that this location is different from city centre as their broth is cooked for short time and they don't want to overcook vegetables so they undercooked them to avoid many complaints for overcookimg. We were advised that we should have asked to replace the food when the first waiter checked up on us. After long discussions, we got a service fee taken off our bill that was precalculated and we left the place disappointed. Pity because it was close...
