Stoutmans is a pub on the up. Sitting in a great history filled area of old Dublin this place offers real Irish service. It's my go to place to watch a Rugby match on the big screen and have a bite to eat. Lots of work has been done to make the front bar cosy and the main lounge is lovely in traditional dark wood with great views of the stage for gigs, especially on the balcony as it has 2 levels. Joe the owner is a proper gentleman and likes to greet the customers. Great for group bookings.

Here on a Sunday. The ballet's are flowing. The Guinness is just fantastic. The food is not to fussy but we'll worth a try . You won't be disappointed. The drink prices will still leave money in your pocket. Great pub a little jem.

Down the other end of the Liberties (assuming this is still the Liberties?) a pint and crisps is €2 less (€6.50) and a lot nicer...

I was here on 10/02/17 for a quiz. My first round was a Guinness and wine and came to €9.50. The Guinness was very good. Next time I went to the bar, same round was €10, which I decided to question, the bar man said the last fella must have got mixed up, its €5 for Guinness out here (the function room as oppose to the main bar). Not nice surprise, but not uncommon to charge more in function rooms. I went up for the same round again ordered from a lady, but the €5 pint per pint man was quick to intercept and take on the order which left me suspicious. Then my friend came in, got two pints of Guinness separate from my €5 per pint man and the first bar man that served me. €14, €4.50 x 2 for the Guinness and €5 for the wine. I went up to the bar man that served my friend and he said he'd have to speak to the manager. The manager was the lad who'd charging €5, he whispered in the ear of the bar man that served my friend and I had the same spiel returned to me. Seems very unlikely two separate bar men would get the price wrong independently and it was very disappointing that it was seemingly the manager that was charging extra. The third bar man came by me twice to apologies, which was decent of him and appeared to me to further confirmed this other lad, notionally the manager was over charging. The value is irrelevant, the nasty experience and trust lost is what matters. Lovely premises...

I wouldn't repeat: 50 minutes waiting for the dinner and 2 of the courses were wrong.

We phoned them to book a table for eleven of us, letting them know that we'd only have 1 hour for having dinner as we had an event in Trivoli Theatre. They said it'd be great if we could be earlier there, so we arrived there when they suggested.

Nobody was there to receive us and we were waiting and trying to find the waitress for 5 minutes.

We only ordered 1 course per person and we were waiting for 50 minutes for them, so we had to eat in 10-15 minutes. 2 of the courses were wrong (we ordered Caesar Salad with chicken -main course- and they brought a classic salad -starter-), so I spent the whole evening in the theatre after eating a really small salad, which I had to eat in 5 minutes and not being the one I ordered.

I was the one who booked this place, but my friends and myself were so disappointed with this place. Classic Irish food, but...

We came here for a beer and food, kitchen was closed at 6pm so we didnt get food. Based on previous reviews, we asked ahead of time how much each beer would cost, bartender didnt didnt know and went back and forth between 2 different prices for 2 different beers, had to ask another bartender and said it may change because there is a new tax implemented just this week. We paid for a Guiness, 4.60, he dropped the change on the floor and had the nerve to say we were 50 more cents short and then had the nerve to say I could go back and look for it when I questioned the lost money as I was certain we had paid the entire amount. It sounds like there is money scalping going on that the owner doesn't know about. Do not go to this bar!! Terrible service...
