What surprised me the most in minimum words? Great food, not a tasty coffee. Cutting long story short I’ve found Groundstate Coffee a very nice place with a casual decor, amazingly friendly staff and a menu matching tastes of majority of clients, almost everyone can find their flavour in there. My visit had a clear purpose as it was a morning hour and I was looking for a healthy and delicious breakfast accompanied by a good coffee. I have to say, Groundstate Coffee was a jackpot or at least it looked like it. Ordering a sandwich (Pastrami Sambo) and an americano coffee seemed to me an easy choice and not so complicated either. When my meal arrived (and in reasonable time) I happily noticed the sandwich was large and prepared with well composed ingredients creating nice layers, as expected from this impression it was delicious (note homemade fingers licking slaw)! Content with such a good beginning I turned to test out cup of coffee beside it. Short to say, disappointment it was, such a pity. Frankly speaking I’d never expect a sour- tasting cup of coffee in the establishment holding a company/brand website with advices how to brew a delicious coffee, would you? I hoped by displaying and sharing a knowledge of coffee making this will be an undoubtedly easy to serve well prepared hot beverage. Unfortunately it wasn’t a case, coffee was clearly under brewed and out of taste. I really like this cafe as it has everything in place to be one of the best and nice places to return to, however it looses the purpose when there is no good coffee to enjoy. My only hope is that the above failure was due to human error, bad day, staff in training still, etc, and can be easily resolved and make Groundstate Coffee most visited cafe in Dublin. This would be my sincere wish as the staff, vibe, space and the menu are...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Groundstate, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm ambiance and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
However, what truly stood out during my visit was the exceptional service provided by Manager Ludmila. Her attention to detail and dedication to ensuring every customer's satisfaction was evident throughout my entire visit.
Not only did Ludmila greet each customer with a genuine smile, but she also took the time to engage with them, making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she was more than happy to provide recommendations based on my preferences.
Furthermore, Ludmila's leadership skills were apparent in the way she effortlessly coordinated the team, ensuring that orders were taken promptly and efficiently. Despite the busy atmosphere, she remained composed and approachable, handling any issues with grace and professionalism.
In addition to the exceptional service, the quality of the coffee exceeded my expectations. Each sip of my latte was rich and perfectly balanced, and the cheesy mushroom toastie with its perfectly toasted bread and generous filling of savory mushrooms and gooey cheese, this sandwich is a delightful treat for your taste buds.
Overall, my experience at Groundstate was nothing short of fantastic, thanks in large part to Manager Ludmila. Her commitment to excellence and passion for hospitality truly set this coffee shop apart. I will certainly be returning soon and recommending it to all...
Read moreI went back to this place this morning as the food and coffee yesterday was exceptionally good. I was 1st to order, 1st to get my food. Being alone, and the small table of 2, already taken with people with menus. I sat at the next smallest table of 4. I was asked to move, which was not a problem, but I didn't want to sit at the window benches with my knees up against the concrete block wall. Sitting away from it might have resulted in dropping food down the front of myself or sitting awkwardly at an angle, not good for a bad back. So I said I'd like to eat at a table, in the proper manner if possible. Lady, who was very pleasant and polite, said ok well can I move you to the end of the long table then. I moved without hesitation. This table was clearly reserved. My breakfast arrived and I was asked to move again to the window seats 'you can take your chair with you' I explain the knee thing and was left to eat. The next thing was the party of 9 turned up, were speaking in a different language to me. But surrounded the back of me at the table in a 90° angle. Waiting for the said table. One lady coughed over the front of the table and my food and continued to cough, sitting adjacent next to me. Made me feel very uncomfortable. I removed myself from this situation as soon as I had finished eating. Happy to drink my water on the window seats. The table of 4 where I'd originally sat remained empty, although they had put a reserved sign on it by now. Nobody's fault here as such but wanted to put how this situation made a single person feel......
