Kingsbridge, now called Sean Heuston Bridge but many older people still use the old name. The crowns were removed after the renaming. Today it is a bridge for trams and pedestrians only

Small bridge, nothing extra special about it so that you should go take a look, but going from the train station, it makes a fine introduction to the city.

"What I do is the opposite of building walls. I build bridges. A bridge is something that connects instead of separating." -Santiago Calatrava (1951- )

Crossing the River Liffey, the Seán Heuston bridge stands between Heuston Station and Phoenix Park. It was originally built in 1828 and today is used for pedestrians and Luas traffic - cars and trucks are shifted to the downstream Frank Sherman Bridge.

When it was built, it was the King's bridge but was renamed in 1941 to honor the Irish revolutionary figure Seán Heuston.
