Hui Kee — Restaurant in Dublin

I ordered from here after reading the reviews about bad delivery (first mistake)... We ordered on just eat, gave our mobile number and wrote a note saying we will wait around near the front door for the driver as we were staying in a hotel. Just eat said it will take 1.5hrs for food, which we didn't care. I sat and refreshed the app every 3 mins to make sure it wasn't being delivered (closer to the 1 hr mark) and after around 5/6 times, the app changed it from 'thanks to your order' to 'delivered'. Driver wasn't outside, didn't give food to reception,,, took around 8 calls to get through to staff to ask what's happened just to be told they tried to deliver and I need to cancel. They then put the driver on the phone, and he very cheekily stated that he was waiting outside for 20 mins and tried to call our phone? Okay. I stated that we had a reception and he could have dropped it off there, as I stated in the notes, but he spoke over me saying 'THERES NO RECEPTION AT - COURT'... wrong address. I asked if I could pay and get it redelivered, they said no we won't deliver again. Cancel your order... and then hung up. But it wouldn't let me cancel through just eat, because they put down as 'delivered'. I now have to plead my case to get my money back.

Not good customer service. Dont understand why, as a company, you can't deliver to the correct address after YOU were at fault for not delivering properly. I was only staying a 5.5 minute drive away from the takeaway.

Lesson learned - take in...

Absoulte horrendous food. Would not even put it in my mouth for a taste. I ordered a shredded chicken and noodle box the shredded chicken was absoultely discusting the chicken was white on the outside and the inside was completely brown and black and pink with blood. The whole inside of the chicken was gooey. Noodles wore dripping of grease. Delivery Also terrible over 1 hour long it took and when I rang reception to ask how long she was so rude. I will definitely be taking this serious as I could’ve easily ended up sick. When I rang driver to collect and return money he said no. I rang the shop they also...

I felt compelled to write this review to counter some of the bad reviews here that are completely out of line with our experiences with Hui Kee. I've lived in the area for 20 years and tried every Chinese and this is by far the tastiest, freshest and fastest delivery in the area. The delivery drivers are also always very pleasant. The portions are very big, which usually means bad quality, but this is definitely not the case. When my family comes to visit from other areas they always ask us to order Chinese because they love it so much better than their own local...
