Coffee is not bad at all - 7/10, probably higher if you're less particular than I am. If you just need a cup of joe, Loaf Cafe will do more than fine.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food. My bagel was so over-toasted it sounded like wood when I tapped it with a nail, and there was no salt whatsoever in the avocado topping; on another occasion, my mom's bagel was toasted normally, but the cream cheese was equally unsalted. My entire family's consensus was that the food was quite bland.
What's worse: my little brother has a serious allergy to tree nuts, so even if there are no nuts in the food, any contamination can trigger a reaction. We were told the buttermilk pancakes were safe for him, but it turns out they were not. I believe that, as we were told, there were no nuts in or on the pancakes, but there must have been some contamination, because my brother immediately felt his mouth start to itch, had to take medication, and was subsequently sick for hours. Our experience in Dublin has been that food service outlets take his allergy very seriously, so I'm sure the staff tried their best, but we probably won't get food...

Coffee was terribly bitter. Quiche had no flavor. Service was poor: I ordered the bagel with smoked salmon. I paid and immediately asked if I could switch to another item on the menu. I was told it was too late. 5 minutes later they came to me and asked me to pick another item because they ran out of smoked salmon. How ironic! I asked for the quiche plate but it was more money and they wouldn't compensate by offering it complimentary. I ended up taking the quiche without the side salad to meet the same price. After that, I got another better coffee at the cafeteria in...
Read moreCouldn't eat what I had ordered in there today as the smell was so bad, I actually felt light headed. Smelled like a gas leek which when I informed the staff member, told me she didn't know as she had just started working. Had a coronation chicken sandwich which I usually love but the quality of the chicken here was so poor, and the sauce was intensely overpowering yet didn't disguise the chalky texture of the bad chicken, I couldnt eat it. A far cry from what it was previously, now it's just a little tourist coffee shop. Sad to think tourists would judge Irish quality based on this with a huge tourist attraction...
