I went to Kennedy's for breakfast with a friend today and had a very positive experience.
I was treating a friend to her 70th birthday breakfast. She has very limited mobility so a short walk from the car was essential. I enquired if this was available and was told that it was - there are two wheelchair spaces about six steps from the table...perfect!
While on this email back-and-forth, I was asked if I'd like to book which I did. When I arrived I explained I had booked and was replied to with "Oh! You must be Amy!" A lovely friendly greeting.
The two ladies who served us were friendly and helpful. The menu was pretty standard breakfast but all the food we saw sailing past to other people looked good too. My friend had pancakes which I was assured were gorgeous and I had granola. I thought the portion looked a bit excessive but I managed to finish it all. It was delicious - nutty flavour - and the rhubarb was perfect with it. (I should add that I ate that around 9am and it's now 6pm and I'm only now starting to feel a little hungry - it has literally kept me going all day).
The coffee wasn't to my taste - just a personal preference but the teas were lovely.
It was an important day for us and the real winner was that we didn't at all feel rushed. We sat outside and chatted for about two hours, watching the world go by, and nobody tried to make us order more or move us along which was very much appreciated.
All in all for our two breakfasts with tea and coffee it was under €25 so it's excellent value (especially as it covered breakfast...
Read moreThe poorest service I've ever experienced walked in just before 11am this morning waited 10 minutes to place order for scone and a coffee. Then told to wait while table was cleaned I ended up having to clean it myself,as one staff member running around trying to do all while the rest stood behind counter chatting and texting. At 11.20 still no sign of my order I went up to counter left standing while girl in charge texting the look blankly at me when I asked about my order said shes waiting on the coffee machine while her back turned to it.I pointed out a large number of people had been served their orders including full breakfast after mine and I was still waiting.Order finally or should I say the coffee part came at 11.35 with another delay before a scone came not the type ordered to be told that was all that was left. I pointed out the selection was there when I made the original order with srugg of shoulders in reply. I again went to who I thought was in charge(as all the staff seemed to run everything through her)to guess what!! Again the blank look what's your problem!! No apology or offer of refund I asked for manager to be told none available (place runs its self it seems ) and refused to give me a telephone number to register my complaint or give the managers name said if I felt like it to go online !!.Still talking over me as I was walking out the door, smirking !! Rude staff the most long wait for very poor service will never see my...
Read moreA friend and I found this place near our college campus, we went here for some lunch . The staff were friendly and the place was inviting, we sat where we wanted and the atmosphere may have been loud but it shows that the place have loads of locals coming back to their cafe . Service was quick and the servers were lovely people, my friend got a sandwich and I got their vegetable soup. The food was delectable, the soup was full of flavour and had that Rich tomato taste it was delicious. My friend’s sandwich, they said it was lovely and filling but they were stunned about the stuffing, the stuffing they liked the most it had amazing texture and flavour, we both enjoyed this with our mocha and lemonade. The mocha tasted different to other mocha’s I tried in different coffee shops. I was amazed that they added something to get that sweet and creamy chocolate flavour, it added a lot of sweetness to the mocha which I liked , it was very...
