Food was good....small menu but still nice food. Staff and management were very good, adaptive to changes in bookings and ever changing customer needs, which is great to see and is not common in many hotels and restaurants nowadays. My wife made a mistake whilst booking the room on her phone and only booked one breakfast. Unfortunately she was confused at reception when asked to pay extra money upon check in..This was no problem but the duty manager was watching everything in the background and was on the ball and sent a staff member over afterwards to say they would not charge for the 2nd breakfast. It was very much appreciated and showed how well they react to customer needs... The goodwill and high regard he generated, for the hotel, from this simple gesture, far outweighs the meagre €22 or so, they would have got as remuneration for breakfast... I dont think he even knew that 20 of my extended family were staying there and we had 140 people there for lunch next day after a family funeral, so Kudos to him... We stayed here a few years ago but will definitely be back and I have recommended this Hotel to many of my friends already. Well done...

The knights bar has a really cool atmosphere which goes along with the rest of the Clontarf castle. There was a nice drink selection and many beers from local breweries. The service was absolutely excellent.

The food was overall decent. We ordered a starter first; the duck meal balls and they were not very good. They were pretty bland and the portion was small even for an appetizer. As for dinner we ordered the muscle curry and a burger. The curry was excellent, seasoning was quite mild so not very spicy at all. The burger was well done, but had a very fair portion of meat in it. The fries were a little disappointing. We asked for the mayo and Parmesan fries and literally all of the Parmesan and mayo were just in a giant blob at the top and there wasn’t much Parmesan. In most places I’ve been with seasoned fries there is more seasoning and it’s mixed in. The dessert was by far the best part of the meal. I highly recommend ordering...

I love the Castle. It and the bar area are lovely to look at and sit in. High elaborate ceiling, huge fireplaces etc but I also know that the service will always be slow, at the bar and table, and the food will be hit and miss. Buttermilk Tandoori Chicken Flatbread - the chicken was really lovely, mango tarka also lovely, the flatbreads were too blackened and the slaw not my favourite, felt like there was no dip or sauce to bring it all together. Portion size was good, because of slowness in service one of my friends who arrived late shared it with me rather than wait 30+ mins. And there was enough 2. Warm chocolate fondant, looked lovely tasted ok. Service is not bad, staff are nice but always the whole thing just runs slowly. Wine was lovely and I didnt see list, but my friend did say there weren't many options under the €45 we...

A lovely Irish pub, perfect for a casual, fast and relaxed meal. The fish and chips were crisp, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The antipasti tray—mainly Italian cold cuts like mortadella, salame piccante, and prosciutto, served with focaccia and verdure sott’olio—suited my husband’s taste and appetite very well. The wine and beer selection was more than adequate. I would have preferred a more comfortable table, but that certainly didn’t take away from an otherwise pleasant evening.
