I was walking my dog on the promenade (a fancy word for me and I was dying to use it in a sentance, I grew up in the North strand and schooled in Joeys in fairview but my wife took the commoner out of me but growing up going to Dollier was never a stroll along the promenade anyway I'm digressing) Teddy my exhausted dog returned to the car to head back to to BFG ( no not a Roald Dahl book book but some people think my address is or should be Ballymun , Finglas or Glasnevin. I'm actually Glasnevin but my working class buddies won't let me get above my station yet I'm proudly working class just bought at the right time) my my totally digressing altogether. Anyway I fancied a coffee and by chance O had parked outside the Maharaja and saw the not only did Indian cuisine take away but coffee too. All I can say lovely incredibly nice staff very welcoming and the coffee?.....smooth as silk and great value. I did a bit of reflecting enjoying my dog the view of Clontarf and remembering my days as a young boy heading to Dollier with my brother Mum ad Dad never thinking or imagining years later I would appreciate good coffee, own a dog, have a wonderful wife and be waiting on my own son to come from work on the Dart and hopefully get another cup of coffee with him at the Maharaja. Isn't it amazing what a great place with friendly staff and good coffee can do for the soul.

Read many reviews regarding the delivery time still decided to give it a go. Surprisingly, the food was on time. However, it was utterly disappointing. I ordered the meal deal for 2. The appetizers consisted of a fried potato ball (wada) and a Samosa which were both average. The potato wada had too much mustard seeds and the mint chutney was bland and was weird in a way I can't describe. I ordered Birbal Kofta Curry and Chicken 65 and both had literally the same gravy but was quite different from what was written in the product description. The Koftas were supposed to be mixed vegetable koftas but they were more like Onion bhajis in gravy. Both gravies had a lot ,like really a lot of mustard seeds which was a huge turn off. The most decent part part of the meal was the Naan and Rice but it's a pity I couldn't complement the rice and naan with any of the accompaniments. I usually store some of the leftover in fridge for consuming later but I threw most of the food away because I knew I won't be able to eat it again later. The price and the delivery fee was way higher than my usual takeaways but the taste was nowhere near any of them.

Terrible food and awful service. Our food was an hour late and when it arrived it was cold and massively over cooked and burnt in some places. It was completely inedible. When we rang and complained the staff were apologetic saying they were really busy. We were told there was a note on the account that we would receive a free meal. When we called up to order this meal we were told there was no such note and they would not honour their promise. Genuinely couldn’t believe it considering how awful the food was.

Would be 5 stars based on the food which is so so tasty BUT, their service is absolutely shocking. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say it is the worst I've experienced in my life. If their website gives you a collection time, it won't be ready until AT LEAST 20 minutes after that.

Had to call on Saturday because their website was acting up, probably because it was overloaded with orders so we called and finally got through after 15 minutes of trying. The woman said to come in 20 minutes. We arrived in 30 minutes and then stood in the shop for an additional FIFTY minutes waiting for our food, so a total of 80 minutes after ordering. Outrageous, no apology or indeed even a thank you for our business....
