Absolutely magnificent restaurant experience at Sands Mediterranean in Clontarf. The food here is to die for...we ordered the best Frutti di Mare pizza ever with the most delicious seafood toppings, the wonderful baked hake with pasta and the freshly battered fish and chips. The garlic pizza starter went down a treat and the triple cooked chips and garlic mayo are superb. Mick and his staff are the best and so welcoming and accommodating. This was another really top notch dining experience and I highly recommend putting Sands Mediterranean on your list of restaurants to try in Clontarf. 5 stars all day long!

Disappointing Experience at Sanda Mediterranean on the evening of 16/5/25

I rarely write reviews, but I felt it was important to share what we witnessed during our visit. A very polite and lovely man approached the restaurant to place an order, and instead of being greeted kindly, he was treated very rudely by the manager. When he asked if he could sit outside, the manager responded dismissively, asking where he was sitting. The man pointed outside where the man's wife was sitting, but the manager immediately said, “No, you’re not,” claiming the table was reserved for Mick.

When the man asked if they could sit inside instead, the manager again refused, saying the table was reserved for someone else, and then laughed at him. Even the staff seemed shocked by this behavior and asked why the reserved signs weren’t put on the tables, but the manager just shrugged it off and laughed. The man was left standing there, visibly upset, while the manager went back to chatting with other customers who appeared uncomfortable with what had just happened.

This kind of treatment is unacceptable and unnecessary. We paid for our drinks and decided to leave after witnessing this exchange. The manager or owner should apologize to that man for the way he was spoken to and treated.

Such behavior reflects poorly on the establishment, and I hope it improves for future customers. Sadly, this experience has made us decide...

We have been here twice in the past and the food in general was very good especially their pizza. This time around it was disappointing.

We had a meatball starter to share but the meatballs were cut into slices and had a very dense texture. We wondered if they had been microwaved. The tomato sauce was also bland.

My pizza was fine but there was a strong taste of dried oregano and that bland tomato sauce again. My wife's mushroom pasta had a strong taste of dried garlic and wasn't very pleasant at all.

There is no kids menu but they offer half portions. €10 euros for a bowl of kids pasta with butter is very expensive, many other places we've been to charge a maximum of...

The standard of Sandbar has really gone downhill. The pizza has gotten smaller there is no way that is a 12 inch pizza. It is paper thin at best with very little on it. The wings use to be delicious. The last few times I have gotten them they have been very fatty and rubbery, it feels like the spicy sauce has changed. It looks to me that they are purchased in Aldi or something. It was very disappointing because it use to be 10 quid for any pizza. The pizza would be a lot bigger and wouldn’t be portioned like it is now. I also find it a joke how a pizza is 14 euro now with it being so thin. The manager is very unpleasant and always seems to be in a bad mood which is a...
