The Hamburger Bar — Restaurant in Dublin

Despite going here years, we won't return after our last experience. The staff aren't normally the nicest or most friendly but the food had been worth it. For the first time we ordered for delivery. We ordered quite a lot and were told 30/40 mins, an hour later I rang to see where it was, to be told they called to the house 10mins after we ordered and no one answered, a good trick when we live a minimum 10 min drive away.. was the food raw? The man on the phone was rude, aggressive and insisted on raising his voice. I asked how much longer it might be, he jumped down my throat saying they called and we didn't bother answering, claiming the driver waited ages and phoned us three times (there was one missed call from a private number when I was in the bathroom and, like most people, I don't answer private numbers anyway) he didn't let me get a word out while he ranted. He said the time the driver left and when he was here, which he wasn't because I was stood outside then. My dog barked (which she does at the best of times) minutes after we ordered, but the bell never rang and there was no one there when I got to the door. As I am recovering from back surgery I didn't exactly run down the stairs but didn't take long, as I was told the food would be minimum 30mins I thought I'd be ok. I even went out to the road to see if there was anyone around and there wasn't. I said I was sorry but the bell never rang and I went to the door when I heard my dog but there was no one there. He told me not to bother and save my breath because it didn't matter, the driver was refusing to ever come here again. Nice to see they're doing so well they can turn down business! We have been customers for almost two decades,the food was always lovely regardless of what u ordered however over the last while it has gone down hill big time.tonight we made an order for over €40,we called out the order twice,first time the guy apparently didnt hear the 3 chips ordered but obviously he didnt hear the fresh cod ordered twice either because we recieved a cod portion instead not to mention the chicken nuggets we were left short for one of the kids which we had to wait for & thats just the overall service. The food itself is not the best these days either, some things that are still good like the burgers but the chicken etc has gone to the dogs,maybe they switched suppliers or something,who knows but its been a steady decline for the last while.its time to stop using this chipper for us...

My experience with The Hamburger bar has been nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I placed my order for their famous chips, I knew I was in for a treat.
