Myself and my partner were threatening to go to this place for a while as we drove past it regularly and we decided to bite the bullet.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a waitress. She had black hair and was tanned. I did not know her name as there was no name tag. To say she was one of the rudest servers I have ever had is an understatement.
My partner asked me to order her food for her as she was tired. When the server came over I said could I have the carbonara and if I could add chicken to it. She was about to leave and I said I will have the spaghetti bolognese for myself and she looked at me and said I thought you wanted the carbonara no ? I said no that is for my partner. The bolognese is for me. She scribbled out the carbonara on her notepad and began to rewrite the order. She was clearly annoyed because she had to rewrite the order.
Her whole attitude throughout the order process was horrible to deal with. At one point after she finished the order I said to my partner, will we just leave but we were hungry so that was the only thing that kept us there.
I have to say, the food was very good. It was delicious and it came out within 15 minutes. Unfortunately we won’t ever be returning here as we just don’t want to have to deal with that waitress again. It’s not worth going to be made feel like you’re a problem for her even though the service and how you’re welcomed into an establishment is one of the main things that keeps a business going and keeps customers returning besides the food.
When I was paying too, the tip system came up on the screen. I tapped no tip and I got scaldy look from her.
If you want to take a chance to try the food then go for it but if you want bad service...
Read moreIt was like walking through a doorway and arriving in Italy in an instant. The ambience and setting is perfect. I enjoyed the décor with exposed copper piping on the walls, the open kitchen to see the chefs at work. The walls also had pieces of art dotted about that gave a nod to local attractions but it still felt like being transported to Italy. Our first time and the menu was not overwhelming. Like everything about LaGustosa... It was 'just right'. A nice wine menu, I had the Chianti. We ended up here because we both had a hankering for a Pizza and came across this spot on Google Maps. We've been to various parts of Italy... We've tried a multitude of pizzas around the world...some purporting to be "authenticate Italian"... But the Pizza here, at the charming, everything 'just right' (my words), LaGustosa... The pizza was spectacular! Sauce was simple, refreshingly so... No heirs or graces... It was clearly made with fresh tomatoes, no need for big flavours or seasoning in the sauce and it complimented the freshness of the dough and toppings. The dough ever so gingerly crispy and thin... It was to die for.
We are really looking forward to returning time and again to try out the rest of the menu. Bravo to LaGustosa and their staff. If you haven't tried this place......
