Not recommended. DO NOT order their oysters. Overall, it was a terrible experience with bad management, mediocre food and hidden charges that we not explained. Our first impression was good and we were excited to try this place. We were given a nice table and it looks nice inside. They started with a nice presentation as they brought all the seafood in a display cart and the deserts as well. We started with an order of oysters and crab claws. Then the nightmare starts. We got oysters filled with sand inside. I choked twice sipping the oysters and got my throat filled with sand. All oysters seemed to be like that so we send them back. A manager came and did not even apologize, just said it was not their fault and charged us for it even though we had 3 out of 12 of them. The crab legs were OK and swimming in a tasteless sauce. Then I got a not so tasty lobster dish for 50 euros. My other parties got fish and lobster and we did not enjoy anything. For desert, we wanted to try to crepe suzette but they advised us it would take 40m to prepare at desert time. So we passed. Then we got a bill with a restaurant service charge for 17% of the bill. No one could explain it what the charge was for but the waiter said we should tip separately from the service charge as that was a restaurant fee. So we tipped the waiter and on the following day we sent an email to the restaurant asking what was the service charge for and they never replied. We were very...

We were very disappointed with our experience. We arrived for Valentine’s Dinner & were barely greeted, seated and then ignored for most of the evening. They’ve tried to maintain a fancy illusion for a very dated restaurant, which to a degree is fine, but then do it properly- have a maitre d’ with some personality, who makes your evening feel special and worth the price you spend. We were offered the special of the evening, lobster, prawn and fish for €60. We asked would we be able to share it, thinking it was like a platter, the waiter said yes but you should add sides. My husband ended up ordering a rib-eye, which looked like a minute steak with the whole middle just being fat. He sent it back after 2 bites, and they ‘graciously’ took it off the bill. The seafood platter was a very small lobster tail, a tiny prawn and fish about the size of a two-finger kitkat, all smothered in a fairly bland sauce- very disappointing to say the least and definitely not shareable. We didn’t go extravagant on drinks, but without the steak, the bill came to €200. The only good thing was the oysters and the bottle of red we had was decent.

Very disappointing considering it was Valentine’s Day and so expensive. We definitely...

Mixed experience. The food was very nice- fresh fish, nice veg and potatoes. Bread was old, cold, not homemade and hard. The service was awful- the head waiter would not let the younger guys to take food orders and i personally did not like his manners- he acted rushed and frustrated when you were asking him questions about the dishes. The younger waiting staff were nice but seemed to be afraid of him. Too many waiters then were standing in a row staring at you ( literally at your mouth) as you were eating and the minute your dirty spoon was on the table they were racing to pick it up- there were no privacy whatsoever, waiting staff was constantly beside you or behind you topping up your water/ wine every two minutes, picking up one dirty spoon etc- there was no need. All other customers could also hear your conversation ( and were getting involved in it) and you could not help to hear theirs. Personally I like a bit of privacy when I am dining out. The decor and the menu were like a blast from the past- need modernisation and upgrading. The wine had a screw cup which is a huge no no in a restaurant (in my personal opinion). Overall- amazing, fresh well cooked food, not a great service...

Lesson learned. Make sure to ask the prices to avoid negative surprise, especially when the prices are not published. When I asked for one side of vegetables with creamed spinach, he offered to add some potatoes without saying it was an additional order. And a single glass of house wine was overpriced. I left with the impression that they made some of the prices up as they thought they could. When I asked a question the waiter just said ‘sorry’ I thought you would want that in addition to what you ordered, without specifying that it was an additional order. At this place, ask and double check what they will be charging you for and avoid them saying ‘sorry’ when your bill arrives and you must pay whatever they scribbled on the handwritten bill. Good luck with your expense claim for business trips!

Everything about this place is old style including the entrance stairway to the second floor. The decor inside leads to a long gone time. The waiter brings a large platter of the starters to your table for you to view and gives an explains in detail the ingredients. The menu is amazing but I always choose fish as it has the best seafood in town. The waiting staff are extremely polite and efficient and treat you as though you are very special. Again there is a display of the desserts which are very tempting and it is difficult to choose as they all look so good. A thoroughly pleasant experience and it is one of my ‘go to’ places

I'm unsure how to describe the dining experience here. The service was impeccable, the food devine. Not being pompous about it. It really was an experience. I had 1/2 dozen oysters and the lobster with garlic butter (pictured) and my partner has shrimp/scallops and the baked whole sea bass. The sea bass had table side deboning service being completed by skilled hands. As I said, it was an experience. Of course, the experience comes with expense, but highly recommend it.
