Stayed here for an event. This is a really well run family hotel, will definitely return soon the food was superb and my wife who is gluten free was looked after here like no other hotel we have been to. The gluten free breakfast was super. Dinner and dessert options that are gluten free were super & delicious also. All sauces and gravy is gluten free and are really nice for everyone. Late in the evening at the event a platter of gluten free food that arrived was also really impressive. All the food I had every time (not gluten free) was tops too. See my pic, unfortunately it was the only one we took but this was some of my wifes gluten free breakfast that she could not fault! The bar was really nice also. Room was really clean, fresh and the bed was very comfy. Ample parking and not wedged in which is something i like especially when you have a good car!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff and manager are horrible in here, it doesn't even deserve 1 star. The food is awful. Me and my friend recently came in here for a drink before heading into town, we are both of age and have ID. Who I’m assuming was the manager told us it was 21s only and refused to serve us, even though we had valid ID. We both live locally and have been served in this bar a good few times, as it’s not 21s only. He was extremely rude and passive aggressive towards us. We looked outside and saw the 18s over and only sign so we went back in to say that. He was horrible and said “thats an old sign, just go” It was such a horrible experience considering we are both locals and have enjoyed times in this pub before. I will not be returning or recommending this pub to anyone anymore.

Very over priced food. I ordered Cajan chicken nachos. It was basically pieces of chicken nuggets (processed chicken definitely) chopped up and put on nachos &Cajan sauce. Nachos &sauce were nice. My other half order lamb shank. Priced at €12.95 lamb wasn't great but maybe down to time of year However no excuse for soggy tasteless veggies. Too expensive for what we received. Lunch was €24.00 even though nachos were 7.95 on the menu. Cheep chips

I went there 3 times. The first time was lovely - friendly environment, amazing place. The second time we weren't allowed to use the snooker area as it was reserved for a party and there wasn't much people so we decided to leave, which is alright. But the third and last time unfortunately we experienced an unusual treatment. We were told that the snooker area was reserved for a party, just like last time, but after some minutes a regular came and said that we were allowed to get in. We spent around 40 minutes, then another regular (not the one who let us in) came, "invited us" to come with her and when we were near the exit door, we were told that we should never come back. The bouncer heard the commotion and stood up for the regular. We understand that this pub is traditional, for the locals and that we are nothing but local immigrants, even when most of us hold EU citizenship. However, I didn't expect such treatment and hostility for no reason. This review might be meaningless as it'll be our word - non Irish immigrants, against regulars' words. I am really sad about that, honestly. I didn't see it coming - well, maybe a little because I'm black. We do nothing but work and just wanted to chill out, have the opportunity for some immersion into the Irish culture and have a...
