My wife and kids love this place so we keep coming back. The food is nice if everyone is in the mood for fried chicken. I recommend playing the following FUN GAME if you visit:
When given your table, the staff will put a cockerel in your table number. The purpose of this is to make sure that a server attends you during your meal to ask you how it is - they then take the cockerel. I recommend taking this and hiding it for a bit (don't steal it). Now, in any other restaurant, they will attend you automatically without need of such artifice. In Nando's, NO COCKEREL = NO ATTENTION. I like this because I like to eat in peace (therefore I hide it). When I'm finished and want coffee, I produce the cockerel and put it back. Low and behold a server comes and asks how everything was.
In the past I have been let down by the staff who have forgotten coffee or desserts immediately after me asking. It's also harder to get their attention. Training staff to attend a cockerel and not the customer is a bad idea in my opinion Nando's. Therefore, I have decided to take control and temporarily kidnap...
Read moreI'm really not a fan of the "no waiters" business model. No one comes to take your order or anything, you have to do it yourself on a link from a QR code you have to scan. 1. It relies on you having mobile data, which many people do not have and 2. The actual website where you order does not work well. It took 15 minutes to put through the order as the app crashed, failed to load and froze multiple times. When finally the order went through and our food arrived, I saw there was no sauces or ketchup. The waiter did not ask us if we wanted any and I had seen no option to request them on the app, so I walked over to get the sauces we wanted, wearing my mask. When I got to the sauces only 5 feet from our table I was shouted at that I wasn't allowed to be there and very condescendingly told that I have to ask a waiter to get them for me. I really don't like this abuse of covid to try implement cost effective business models and I will not be attending another nandos chain as long as this...
Read moreUnfortunately we visited here today and while we didn't mind having to wait 40 minutes for our table , we where only informed after been seated that they do not take cash and only credit card and the other has to done online on your mobile phone , we asked a manager about this and was told that's the way it is now even though this is totally illegal, the food itself was dry with no flavour and we felt there was no point in mentioning it as we just wanted to eat and leave as quickly as possible as there was a table beside us with 7 people in it and while we where there i noticed the cook never once pulled up their face mask while cooking the food and even at one bent down ovet the grill and blew on the cooking food , the manager we talked to was also in behind the serving counter with her madk down at times so you can be sure we will never return here as if this is your Covid protocols you are putting too many...
