Lovely venue, cocktails great, banging tunes from the DJ however improvements needed lots of problems: Asked for my bruschetta without the tarragon aioli. It came out smothered in it. Sent me out a new bruschetta the bread was so little toasted that it soft and floppy, a raw piece of bread with no crispiness like a bruschetta should be. 3 got steaks and the onion rings on every plate were raw and when cut into there was a lump of flour inside on all plates.Manager sent new ones and offered drinks on house which was something. Ordered drinks and we saw them sat on the bar for over 5 mins with no sign of server bringing them over. Bizarre that bar man hadn't the common sense to call someone. Instead .I got up and collected my own drinks. I said to the girl and man behind bar these are my drinks there sitting here ages. Both looked at me like I had ten heads. Turned out the pink gin ordered was not pink but regular. Steaks said they came with hand cooked chips but instead came with the same fries I ordered for my side dish of parmesan fries. Told they were the only chips they had. Dessert was brutal was a baked cheesecake which is usually a bit firm but it was basically collapsing on the plate one end was firm and the other really mushy it was rotten. Margaritas amazing and good lively spot but all those little issues very very annoying. Staff friendly. Decor great. Despite the food im hoping improvements made and after all my negatives I'd love to go back and give another chance. We booked 8pm sat 5th July...
Read moreWe ate here with friends for the first time last night, the decor is really nice with plush comfortable seating and a nice ambiance. The service was good on the most part, starters very tasty we got the smoked chilli prawns and patatas bravas. My partner had the Guinness pie for main which was lovely if a little salty, I had the strip loin steak which I had asked to be cooked medium. When it I arrived I could tell it was overdone before I even cut it, I tasted it and yes it was very overdone. I sent it back and when the second steak came it was still overdone just not as much as the first one. I ate most of it as I was starving at this stage and the rest of our group had pretty much finished their mains.
We finished with the basque burnt cheesecake which was really nice.
The bill came with some random pint of IPA added to it which none of us had. This was taken off after I brought it to the attention of the server.
Overall it was a pleasant experience but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back and I definitely wouldn’t order a steak here again.
Staff and decor really...
Read moreA lovely addition to Swords. Location and premises very nice. Seating and table size & dostance between them is sufficient. Definitely not cramped. Love the booking online facility, you can give time of departure also. Service is very good & attentive. Not OTT.
Food was good, Chowder was phenomenal, fresh fish & substantial, maybe just a touch of pastis would give it additional depth. But class. Seabass could've done with a second piece of fish & presentation was a bit 'grey' in appearance, boiled baby potatoes could be crisped up for texture, v tasty though. Personal observation. Salmon was v nice, good size and teriyaki glaze not over powering. Nice veg with it. Tasty!
Cocktails very nice & well presented, although didnt get any whiskey taste through whiskey sour.
Dessert was tiramisu. Bit more cake like, coffee ice cream went v well with it & was v tasty. Great for locals tbh and needed in the area.
Music did go very loud as the evening went on, maybe it could be lowered slightly as people are seated & not dance location. But again, personal preference....
