TLDR: Portions of mains, tiny and expensive, quality meh, seating meh, staff service is decent. 2/5.

Well, seating is scare here. We went for a table inside as the only one outside was 3 planks attached to a wall, barely any room for a plate. We were out in a corner beside the bar ona table that wasn't level... Which is infuriating for a couple trying to eat. We decided to share a starter of chicken wings, which was 2 wings and about 8 drumsticks, some of the drumsticks only had a head, were broken in the middle causing shards of bone to fall into your mouth, the celery tasted as if hadn't been washed and it looks like they ran out as we also received a slice of carrot. 10euro for 2 wings and 8 drumsticks is a rip off but it gets worse with the mains. My partner ordered a chicken burger and I ordered scampi. 15 euro for the burger and 25 for the scampi, I've never seen portions so small. I got 8 pieces of scampi that tasted fresh, a fist full of bland luke warm fries(think mcondalds small size) and a tiny salad. Chicken burger was a good size but the BBQ sauce was far too sweet and the chicken tasted old, there was portions of it that were rubbery. Did not taste fresh at all. We finished our drinks and paid and got out, won't be back far too expensive and food quality just isn't up to scratch. You're paying for a view you probably won't get to see, I know...

We were a party of 4 for dinner recently. The tables have a grubby sticky feel, the food was tasteless and the small dishes of sauses/peas on the plate looked as though they had been transferred from another customer who hadn't used them. There was a "crust" on them. Salad garnish was wilted and again looked as though it was not freshly prepared for us. Glasses did not sparkle. I have read the Manager's response to other people's comments. I would suggest that before you reply to this you might like to take a look at the dishes that are being brought to table by staff and see for yourself. Look at the glasses. Everyone prefers/deserves a clean glass! O'Connells is a pub/restaurant in the heart of a beautiful location where you have the opportunity to offer a great dining experience for tourists and residents. You are certainly charging enough for food that should be better quality. Make it a place where people will rave about and want to return to, and not somewhere they wish they...

Had lunch here today and it was poor. I ordered the crispy Asian chicken with fried rice and my dad ordered the burger. He was told that there was no bun delivery that morning so the burger would be served without one. Another waitress walked by while this was happening and told our server that there were in fact buns on premises so day saved on that one. My Asian chicken came out with the sauce not on it but rather under it. Chicken was battered like it was fish and the fried rice appeared to have been made by someone who had never made fried rice before, like the rice had been boiled and raw egg mixed in to it while hot. It had red peppers and big lumps of cucumber in it. Dads burger was described as fine. Food took a good while to come out and the pints which we ordered could also only be described as fine. It was just a really weird meal all told. I’m sure the seafood is nice there but if someone in your party can’t eat it I would suggest giving this place a miss. Service was also...

Fantastic pub with super lovely atmosphere! Located on the beach, within very close walking distance from the DART station. This place was recommended to us by a Dublin local and we were not disappointed! We decided to go for the fried Brie to start and then we both had the fish pie as mains - everything was super delicious! Great selection of beer, ciders and drinks and the staff were all super lovely and helpful. We happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and were treated to live Irish music which was wonderful! We were lucky enough to be able to find a spot to eat by the bar, however the place was super busy, so I would really recommend booking in advance, so as to avoid any disappointments. Well done to all the staff!

What a pleasant surprise. We spent the morning walking the cliffs and enjoying the sites of Howth. We wanted to have lunch close to the pier, so we decided on O’Connells. The food was delicious, the Guinness was cold, and the entertainment was spectacular! We arrived at 12:30 on Sunday just as the restaurant was opening. We were immediately present it with our beverages, followed by our meals. Michele had to East Pier chowder, and I had the O’Connell’s Beef and Guinness pie. Both are entrées were outstanding. The wait staff were efficient and friendly. As an added bonus local musicians were playing their favorite tunes. Definitely unexpected and totally awesome!

Lovely People. Nice Irish Food. Amazing view on the Harbour. And the Guinness is 9.5 out of 10. So far it is one of the Best I got. Not sauer at all, You can't see thru it, and it is kind of tasty and creamy, in which way, you want more. Even when it is cold outside, it goes smoothly down your throat. Zero bitter or sauer taste afterwards. Over all, service professionals, they treat you like Gentleman. No overpowering music. One of the best spots on Howth, where the Restaurant has a class. To myself, I'm a Guinness hunter, so the worst was at the No Name Bar in Town. -10. Cheers guys. The atmosphere is 4 because nothing in life is 10 out of 10
