GEO Restaurant at the g Hotel & Spa — Restaurant in Galway

I recently went there for a nice family dinner since it was my birthday. Straight away when I went inside the restaurant, it was flithy. As we were ordering our food, the counter was dirty with sauce all over it. The lady taking our orders kept rolling her eyes at us and kept telling us to hurry up because there are other people waiting to be served when there was literally no one else there other than us. As soon as we finished ordering our food, we went to find a table to sit at, only to realise that they were all extremely dirty! The seats were wet for some reason and the table was sticky with crumbs on it. We had to wait 2 and a half hours for our food to come. When it finally did come, the lady bringing it to us, put her fingers in my soup. When she placed my food on the table, she slammed her hand on the table right in front of me resulting in the soup on her fingers to splash in my face. She did not apologise. I asked her why she did that. She just sighed, rolled her eyes and walked away. Like what? Anyway, after we were finished eating, the same lady came up to us to take our dishes away. After my soup, I ordered a pizza. The pizza came surprisingly quick. But. As i was about to grab the ketchup for the pizza, I saw a fly in the vinegar. A FLY! The second I saw that fly I called the lady over and i said that I am not going to eat this food and told her to take it away. She took it away while rolling her eyes. She then came back telling us to pay after 20 minutes of us waiting. We payed like any other normal human would even though the service was horrible, the place was not hygenic and the ingredients they used in my food was rotten. She also demanded we give her a tip. She would not leave us alone until we gave her a tip so I handed her a 1 euro coin. She asked is this all, I lied and said yes because I was not about to give this horrible waitress a bigger tip than that. I would not recommend this place. Horrible staff and...

Stayed here before and it was really nice but it was some time ago. Staff are really nice and helpful and are very good overall. The place itself is really nice and comfortable but the food is so so poor. We had soup which was very good but we had a burger and tacos as a main as they were on special. The tacos were made with dried out pieces of chicken, that you would usually give to the dog if your were at home and the presentation was so poor. My burger was a lacklustre affair with lettuce, mayo and a baby spoon full of relish and just the burger in a brioche bun. My partner commented that we would have got better in McDonalds and she hates McDonalds. A very mixed bag: limited & pricey menu with so-so food. However, it has a lovely quiet get-together atmosphere, a fairly decent wine-list, and generally excellent service.

It's such a pity that more consideration is not put into the menu & cooking.

For dinner, we had the lamb and risotto. While the risotto worked for my vegetarian wife, my lamb portion was unfortunately miniscule and not as tender as it should've been. In addition, the meringue with our dessert was as hard as the table. All of this could be improved with a little more care and attention.

Love the atmosphere with the jazz piano player guy. And there's a French waiter who is absolute class. Management are very reasonable people. And you do feel genuinely welcomed.
