Boxed Wood Fired Pizza — Restaurant in Kenmare Municipal District

We’re staying in Sheen Falls for a few days. We went into Kenmare town for lunch with our three young children, aged 9, 8 and 4. We chose Box. I don’t usually bother with reviews however I feel I could not pass this restaurant without letting others visiting Kenmare know about it. The pizzas we ordered were the very best we’ve had outside of Italy! The service was quick and friendly and the staff we very kind to our three very fussy children. They went above and beyond catering for our youngest child who doesn’t like looking at food on other peoples plates. They set her up at a separate table and served her as a grown up which made her feel very special. The desserts were genuinely homemade and the coffee was perfection. We walked around Kenmare yesterday looking for a restaurant for lunch. Next time we will go straight to Box. I really wish the best for this place....

What an incredible little place! I'll start with the only small issue which was that the restaurant itself is tiny which meant there was no seating inside when we went (it was 8pm on a Friday so makes sense). We said we were happy to sit outside though and they were happy with that. Serving was really relaxed and friendly which was nice, all really nice people working there. Now the main part, the food. Outside of a few restaurants in Italy, this may have been the best pizza dough I've eaten in my life, light but crispy, a nice char on the crust and very tasty. The toppings all good quality and the home made dips super good too! All together a really nice meal, food was served quickly, hot and fresh, the price was more than reasonable. Happened upon boxed while on a day trip to Kenmare from Tralee. We came with two kids in tow. We ordered some margarita pizza for the kids and a sandwich for the adults. Never have I had food like it. The sandwich was filled to the brim with fillings. The pizza was the best pizza we have ever had. It was so good that both my kids begged us to come back again during the summer for pizza. 10/10 for everything. Even the swiftness of getting the food out was exceptional.
