We just happened to notice that this bar had booths, which kept my dad separate from others (being safe due to his cancer) & the space felt well aired. Plus, it looked clean. T'was a bit cold for him, but he was happy enough to leave his hat & coat on as he felt quite safe eating there. On the specials board by the entrance, I spotted the steak ciabatta with side salad & chips. A new lad brought us menus. I checked out the rest of the specials menu. The young waiter returned to our table, moments later, to take our order.

  • ALL IN ALL? My parents both ordered toasties with a sides swap for soup. There was a minor issue with the soups, but another lovely waiter dealt with it straight away. My parents said their toasted special was excellent & the soup was VERY tasty. (€10.- each) 👍 My Steak Ciabatta was very tasty. The beef was tender & juicy. Portion sizes were just right. Reasonably priced food. We all agreed that the staff were lovely, helpful & friendly. We would all recommend a visit to The Kenmare Brewhouse to anyone going for lunch. Finally... Why the 4 Star & not the 5 stars for the atmosphere? The smiles were lacking by staff as we entered. Once we were in, all the staff were so great, I can't fault them BUT for someone just walking in, it is a turn-off. It's the 1st thing we noticed & commented on! I know my mom will be going again, for...

I was at the resturant on Sunday last. I was just walking out of the resturant and I fell and sprained my ankle and hand off the high step in the resturant. The step wasn't highlighted as high. No staff came to my aid. A kind gentleman came and helped me on a stool outside the resturant and when the stool was too high and I almost fell off of that he got me another one. I hobbled into the resturant to wait for my husband with my daughter. No staff member asked me if I was OK. I asked for ice as I told them I fell on their step and they gave it to me in a glass. My ankle had swollen like a balloon and staff members were walking past and never asked me if I was OK. I hobbled to the bathroom with no help. Nobody told me where the bathroom was. My husband came and we had to pay. All that was said was everything ok for you. I didn't know if I had broken my ankle at this stage. I had to go to the doctor and he said I had a bad sprain. I had to get medicine and I am out of work. I never put reviews up. But because of this resturant I can't work and the staff just ignored my situation. I hope no one has the same...

The bolshy staff really let this place down with their 'wait to be seated' (there were plenty of empty tables) to their 'we can't give you soda bread with your breakfast ... unless you pay extra!' mentality. With so many great, welcoming eateries in Kenmare, avoid this unfriendly one. We ate in Poffs instead. It is rare to encounter a poor attitude in Kerry, so this was a very disappointing encounter.

Update - Your response proves exactly why your staff are rude! Of course the management is to blame ... duh. Like I said, we'll spend our money somewhere else instead, no worries. You win.

Ps why do you think we have a restaurant?!? Where on earth did you read that?!? Our main issue was actually the unwillingness to include decent toast (like we had a couple of weeks ago!) with our breakfast "unless you pay more". Which you ignored entirely.

Your attitude is the problem. So we won't be coming back. And I suggest others go to nicer people instead ... that's the vast majority of restaurants in Kenmare where people can't do enough to brighten up our day, rather than create...

WOW. We stopped in for drinks in the afternoon and found out that they would have traditional music tonight (Wednesday) so we returned for dinner. The dinner was AMAZING. We got the pasta of the day (chicken tagliatelle), special of the day (steak sandwich), pastrami sandwich, and fish of the day (salmon). The steak sandwich was an amazing steak and then put on amazing bread with a butter garlic sauce and mushrooms and caramelized onions. It was the star of the evening, but the other 3 meals were all amazing. The traditional Irish music was fun to listen to, not too loud, we could still talk to each other when we wanted to. I would recommend this to everyone I know.

No complaints here. We didn’t eat food, but the drinks were great. The bartenders were super friendly and the place was spacious, clean and comfortable. This is like a fine cafe mixed with a craft bar. There were different beans that could be chosen from for coffee, and the adult beverage selection was above average. They even had hot chocolate for the kids. Also a very large area in the back for sports viewing.
