Piccolo Pizza — Restaurant in Killarney Municipal District

Staff were very helpful and friendly, we received our food quickly and were served promptly. We went here following the good reviews, however the restaurant has recently been placed under new management, and we found ourselves somewhat disappointed by the food. While the pizza was made fresh and was cooked well, we all found that they had a lot more cheese and salt than we would have liked. The Hawaiian pizza was also rather bland with the toppings very unevenly distributed. The pizzas were lightly scored, however the blunt knifes made them very difficult to properly cut. All of this combined with a bill of €57 for 4 people meant it was not an enjoyable meal out, and that we will not be...

One doesn't necessarily associate Ireland with great pizza...but the pizza and salad at Picollo's was outstanding, as was the owner/chef. I typically can't eat pizza in the US unless it's a gluten-free crust. In Europe, that have more restrictions on flour processing and I can typically eat pizza if the chef has used high quality flour. I ate our pizza with no problems. And the ingredients were so fresh! And flavorful. I recommend stopping in. And if he tells you to come back in 30 minutes because he's busy...that's just because he's wanting to give you the best experience...

Visited Piccolo with a friend of mine over the weekend, as we heard a lot about it and had to see what all the fuss was about.

Without a doubt the nicest place to get a pizza in Killarney. The staff were amazing and really looked after us. My friend chose ice-cream for dessert which went down a treat, I opted for their signature Hausbrandt coffee which I was informed is exclusive to Piccolo in Killarney and I honestly don't know how I'll adjust to regular coffee again, it was THAT good.
