You can ride along drawn in a cart by a horse (called a jaunting car), walk, jog or hike in beautiful countryside. Red deer interact in a way that I'd only seen in nature shows. There was a 12-point male that was in charge and repeatedly told off the younger members of his herd. The waterfall was worth the hike. We continued the loop around the top and came out by the water further up the road. There is parking in a few places other than at the center so don't worry if the lot is full. We simply parked up the road and hiked back the the trail start. If we hadn't done that we may have missed the...

The visitor center is right near the square where horse drawn carriages leave from. Killarney National Park is beautiful. It is the largest park in Ireland. There are fishing tournaments for trout in the large lake in the park. The tournament was going to be the day after we visited. People were getting their boats ready. The boats are kept over near Ross Castle. There are plenty of restaurants, hotels and pubs around the area where the horse drawn carriages leave from to ride through the park over to Ross Castle. I recommend going on the carriage...

I went here with another seven people. It was a very informative and friendly tour guide with us. A well designed tourists attraction. A beautiful large garden at the back of the property. Basically this is a house settings during the Victorian time. If you love antics, you would love to visit this house. Sadly, there were no kitchen. No entry fee is charged. There were a short video about Killarney and nice photos...

A simply gorgeous park. You definitely need to take a quick walk to Tork waterfall if you're in the area. The visitor center is very small and does not have a gift shop. They do have restrooms. No beverage machines or water fountains so bring water. The walk to the waterfall is only about 10 minutes and is great spot for photos. Past that is a bunch of steps that are slippery when wet. The path gets a bit muddy in the rain as well.

Took a horse cart ride tour of the National Park which is about 8,500 acres in size. The cart stops at Ross Castle where there's a toilet there. There's also a big lake here. Swans, wild ducks and deers can be sighted in this park. The path taken by the horse enter shrublands, wetlands and finally back on the road to Killarney town center.

Very nicely restored coach house with friendly staff. Gives a very good overview of the national park with all its wildlife, staff, history, fauna etc through the use of modern exhibits and multimedia. It is beside the centre of Killarney so well worth a walk in to get info, before you tackle the park itself.
