You can ride along drawn in a cart by a horse (called a jaunting car), walk, jog or hike in beautiful countryside. Red deer interact in a way that I'd only seen in nature shows. There was a 12-point male that was in charge and repeatedly told off the younger members of his herd. The waterfall was worth the hike. We continued the loop around the top and came out by the water further up the road. There is parking in a few places other than at the center so don't worry if the lot is full. Read moreThe visitor center is right near the square where horse drawn carriages leave from. Killarney National Park is beautiful. It is the largest park in Ireland. There are fishing tournaments for trout in the large lake in the park. The tournament was going to be the day after we visited. People were getting their boats ready. The boats are kept over near Ross Castle. There are plenty of restaurants, hotels and pubs around the area where the horse drawn carriages leave from to ride through the park over to Ross Castle. Basically this is a house settings during the Victorian time. If you love antics, you would love to visit this house. Sadly, there were no kitchen. No entry fee is charged.
