I'm genuinely upset writing this review, because my birthday celebration which I planned for my friends (a group of 10 ) was completely ruined by this venue. Hereās what happened: My first visit to Chillers last year was a pleasant experience ā I enjoyed the variety of African cuisine. On a second visit with members of my church, the standard was still manageable. However, things have drastically declined...The third time being my birthday, I made a reservation well in advance and clearly requested that meals be pre-ordered and ready upon our arrival. I was reassured several times that everything would go smoothly ā but that couldnāt have been further from the truth. From the moment we arrived, the ambience was disappointing. The entrance and staircase were dirty and cluttered, the table arrangement was chaotic, and there was no sign of food. We ended up waiting over three hours for our meals. When I asked to speak with the woman I had been coordinating with, I was told she had gone shopping. Despite trying to reach her multiple times, I received no response. Eventually, one of the staff members contacted her on his phone, and she began feeding us blatant, fabricated excuses ā claiming she was at Lidl and couldnāt find her car keys. When the food finally arrived, it was a complete letdown. The Fish and Suya platters were stone cold, the plantain was soggy and smelled of stale oil, the puff-puff was burnt, and the spring rolls tasted like they had been reheated multiple times. When we asked for sauce to go with the spring rolls, we were offered ketchup. To make matters worse, the customer service was dreadful. When the lady finally returned from her extended "shopping trip," she was rude, dismissive, and even yelled at guests who raised concerns about the food. While a few of the staff members attempted to be courteous, it was evident they lacked basic training in hygiene and customer service. At one point, a piece of cutlery fell to the filthy floor, and a staff member attempted to place it back on the table ā I had to intervene. The lack of hygiene and disregard for infection control was truly alarming. This venue should be subject to inspection by Environmental Health Officers. The photos on their website are highly misleading and donāt reflect the current reality. I will not be returning, nor will I attend any future events held at this location. I gave one star only because the club atmosphere marginally improved the night. As for the food and service ā they both deserve a zero. Everything appeared and tasted like it had been stored in a freezer and poorly reheated. Even their ordering process was disorganized. The whole experience felt like a complete sham. Utterly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I start. First I was looking for some good Nigerian food and looking on google isnāt not helpful all the time if you arenāt from here. I looked on tik tok and I saw every review but it was @ogechi on tik tok had an honest review about LaMor then I knew I was going to the right place. This was a 40 min drive in uber to get here but when I tell you it was worth it. First was lost, I walked to another restaurant, just walk in up the stairs and you will be greeted by the chef herself. She was so sweet she asked what I would like. Gave me a menu and I said egusi, then I mentioned jollof rice. ( I was so hungry yall) she told me about the Croaker fish and literally guided me on what to get. ( we need help like this from time to time because I truly appreciate it). I am a picky person and Iāve been to Lagos, Accra, Dakar and the jollof rice battle lol Chef LaMor can end that. The rice was perfectly balanced with heat and season. 10/10. I am telling you I have not had this and I get this twice every other week. The slaw I donāt eat ever but I tried and oh my it was so good 9/10, plantains sometimes they can be rubbery but this was so perfect. 10/10, the fried yams had this sauce on it whew. She need to sell this alone. 10/10 ( sauce). The Croaker was lightly fried but has this season thatās in the breading and omg. I ate everything you hear me. I had dessert the puff puff with caramel &chocolate sauce, the sauce was made and you can tell. The puff puffs were perfect not greasy. I tried the beef suya and I love how she mentioned to try with the tomato and it was perfect. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work and she is that deal. I will Whenever I come to Dublin visit here. Hopefully next time Chef LaMor will Be selling that sauce also because it was so good. You cannot go wrong with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām generally not a fan of African restaurants because, in my experience, the level of professionalism tends to be lacking. Despite this, I had no choice but to attend my friendās birthday dinner at Chillers, as she had already made a reservation. When we arrived, we were told the place was overbooked, though they did manage to set up a table for us.
Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, we waited two hours between the first and second course. The quality of the food was disappointing. I ordered the fish platter, and the fish was stale. The plantain was burnt, overly soft, and drenched in oil. Overall, the experience was awfulāa complete waste of both money and time. When we tried to raise our concerns, the staff member we spoke to was incredibly rude. Definitely...
