We came to see Rathfarnham castle. As the tea room from the castle was not enough for us, we decided to search something else. We found you and after consulting the outside menu, we decided to stay and order. We had vegetable soup and turkey with veggies. Was good and the restaurant is very nice. Personnel is very helpful and polite. Thanks 👍

For such an iconic pub it is not what it once was. I thought it would have a nicer interior in the lounge and that it would be cleaner. High chair was filthy. As was our table and chairs. Revels is close and had a better atmosphere and was cleaner.

Without doubt the nicest carvery I've ever had. Lot of different options too! Lovely pub with very friendly staff. Loads of room and very well set up for covid. Recently moved to the area and can definitely see us spending a lot of time here!

Lovely outside area and compliant with covid regulations.

Felt safe and comfortable and even when I forgot to put on my mask to use the bathroom, I was politely reminded as I entered the indoor bar to put it on. Which was much appreciated and well handled. The social distancing was also compliant with regulations. Each table I saw was two metres apart.

The service was very slow at the beginning and we waited 30 minutes before we notified a member of staff that we were waiting. After another 10 minutes, we went in again to remind him and it was then we were given menus. It's important to note, it wasn't busy and it was early in the day. Which is forgiven as it picked up after a little while and having been a repeat customer, I'm aware it's not usually that bad.

The food was good. I had a vegetarian curry which was delicious and with recommendation of our server, I got chips with it too and that really made it.

All in all, good service, warm and comfortable environment inside and out, COVID compliant and decent food....

I’ve never been let down by the yellow house before today. We had the carvery for the first time today. We are usually in later and order off the menu.

The food was thrown at the plate and ended up as a big pile of roast mush on the plate, hard to tell one veg from another. The chef served food as I imagine food is served in prison. I felt I’d someone offended the man as he managed to angrily combine the potatoes, turnip and stuffing into one singularly pile of saltiness. The phrase “you eat with your eyes” was not in this man’s vocabulary today.

Today was a complete waste of money and we couldn’t wait to get out of the place. Our plates were not cleaned as we usually would and it’s hard to see us coming back.

The only good thing was the ice cream we had outside after the...

We were 4 people, we had a lovely meal served to us very quickly. It was a very nice meal. Couple of things that might bring us back again would be the food, the service, very friendly staff. The thing's that we might not come back for is the noise in the area where we had our meal. There were so many many people doing the same and it was very hard to have our own chat as we could not hear our friends all four of us trying to have a chat impossible. Another thing was the parking we had to look for a half hour before we got parking. Personally no worries or cares with the staff or the food. Maybe if you made a deal with the Church across the road to allow patrons to park there or direct them to where they may find some parking. Best of luck to all at the...
