What a fantastic find after a day of shopping at Scotch Hall and Town Centre. My daughter and I were excited to find a Korean restaurant outside of Dublin and stopped in yesterday afternoon at about 1. There wasn't a crowd, just a handful of people scattered in pairs across the space, which was a bit of a relief if you're worried about COVID-19. My daughter ordered beef noodles, I ordered tteokbokki, and we split a Korean corndog. All three dishes were delicious and now I'm excited to return and try some of their other specialties. Someone near us had a burger that looked out of this world, someone else had the bibimbap that was almost too pretty to eat, much prettier than the photo on the menu. The seating is semi-outdoors, positioned between buildings and featuring a food truck kitchen and two smaller buildings/huts for food prep and ordering. The outdoor space, populated by picnic tables and an arrangement of 2-4tops, was covered by a lattice that had artificial greenery woven in, giving the area a casual garden-party and cookout vibe. The weather was nice yesterday, giving us a beautiful and relaxing lunch with great food in this cute outdoor space. We'll...
Read moreSong and Jenn Korean Kitchen. First impressions are important and first impressions of Song and Jenns kitchen was the amazing smell of food as we walked down Street where we were parked not far from the restaurant . The surroundings in the restaurant are not 4 star , but we came for the food and what a collection of food we got for 50 euro. Enough to take some home . We had Bulgogi ( beef ) Ramen noodles with Prawns , stir fry noodles with prawns and broccoli , and vegetable dumplings . I asked could we have containers to bring home what we didn't eat , but despite a feast fit for a king , we ate it all and had nothing left to take away . Simple surroundings , no plates ( you eat from the bowls that food comes in ), plastic cutlery and you get your booze from the pub around the corner ( except they had orange juice ) but its a meal I will never forget as we both thoroughly enjoyed it . In case I would forget to write this review , I sat and wrote it before leaving the restaurant . So if you want simple , tasty delicious food at a very reasonable price , Song and Jenn's kitchen are...
Read moreBeyond Burgers in Drogheda! (4/5 Green Stars) I went to Song & Jenn’s Kitchen with a group of people that are not easy to please all at once – my family! Amazingly, everyone was happy. My mum just had an Americano, but was happy with her coffee (as was I). I was surprised to see the Beyond burger on the menu so, being a mostly plant-based dude, I had to go for that. I was very tempted by the stir-fried noodles, though, which my brother really liked. Bottom line, all of us were happy with our food and it was nice to sit at the picnic table in the spacious beer garden. Service was friendly and I’d definitely come back for another burger or some veggie noodles.
I’m giving Song & Jenn’s Kitchen 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact for the following reasons: • The menu is fairly meat-focused but most dishes can be made vegetarian / vegan. • Happy to see Beyond Meat on the menu – it’s one of the most sustainable (and tasty) meat substitutes. • There’s a good effort made to reduce waste – food containers and coffee cups are...
