I was first introduced to Ma Brady's approximately 10-15 years ago and I have eaten in it ever since. Also I have now probably eaten in 80-90% of the cafes and restaurants all over the town of Dundalk since then. Eating out is my thing. There are three cafés/restaurants/pubs that I believe offer the most warm, welcoming, comfortable and convenient dining experience in fresh, clean and hygienic surroundings, have the most polite, friendly, sharp and attentive staff and most importantly serve extremely good quality food that has been prepared, cooked and presented immaculately. That's before you even bite into that traditional breakfast, your delicious brunch or one of the divine dinners or desserts that they always have on the menu. If you can pack a few courses in for lunch/dinner time , there are some l amazing offers. I believe that it's only €14/€15 for a full four course lunch/dinner and if your eyes are bigger than your belly, the staff will have no problem with putting your starters, main or dessert items into takeaway containers for you to take on home and enjoy later. The coffee is top class too. My only complaint is that restaurants and pubs etc are taking a huge financial hit during this pandemic, especially during the lockdown period. Please remember that Ma Brady's delivers excellent quality food and let's not forget the smaller businesses throughout the winter season and the pandemic. I had to come here to Thank you all for everything you do all the time anyway and for the extra care and attention and I'm sure money too, that you have invested into the place in order to continue to cater to your customers as best as possible. I will be ringing you for breakfast soon as I can't think of a better way to start my week. Sorry for the big long novel. I meant...
Read moreMy fiancé and I stopped in this town to grab breakfast, we were just passing through, as we were on vacation to Ireland, of which we spent a lot of our own hard working money to afford the trip. To our dismay, we were met with the type of hate you would have expected in the 1950s American south. We are Americans by the way. So we stopped to eat here, we were sat down and no one ever came back to take our drink nor food order. I saw another couple sit down and their order was taken shortly thereafter. We gave it a good 10-15 min wait, no one came. We were the only people of color in this restaurant by the way. We decided to get up and walk out. We went to places like this before in Ireland where we were the only people of color and were treated just fine. But Ma Brady’s disrespected us greatly. To my bigger disgust, there were 3 boys that sat to my left that were making fun of me as I sat there. I didn’t want to say anything at the time because it was done in a subtle way and I didn’t want to argue with anyone. Nonetheless this place left me with feelings that Ireland surely has pockets of undeveloped places as far as its people, mentally not evolved enough for our liking. Very sad state to be in. I don’t envy you, rightly so I feel sorry for you all that are so bounded by an imagined...
Read moreGreat local spot for brekkie proper Irish massive portion breakfast with a big pot of tea. Their food is always top class everything breakfast and lunch always fresh and they also have their own on site baked tarts and brown bread. I've never had a bad meal here always been either a hunger buster or most Sundays a cure for the hangover for people . The day we went table was very sticky. And also the place can be quite busy and the place is very narrow so nit good for large groups they do have an upstairs too. My coffee was a little on the warm side no hot kind of Luke warm but trivial things and should not over shadow the the food and staff here amazing spot . Pancakes will end u order at...
