PAN — Restaurant in The Municipal District of East Cork

I rarely if ever give Six stars but Pan deserves it. First time there on Monday 19th Aug. The Toasted special on Sourdough bread was soooo good, I savoured every bite. Real Ham and cheese ( not processed muck) Served with salad and Sour cream crisps, ( which I don't like, crinkled cheese and onion would have been better but that's just personal taste) but sandwich was so filling I was stuffed and tea for one in a nice sized pot and lage cup, which made Three cups. Best I've had yet in Midleton, but haven't been everywhere. Good menu, having seen the food served to other customers I would highly recommend this restaurant for a meal. A family next to me got a desert for their child and it looked soo good, and presented so well, sure twas a shame to see it eaten, it was massive, Lol. Friendly staff - very comfortable setting. Can't fault this place at all, will definitely return. If you haven't been there yet, it's worth it, in fact, I've only ever heard good reviews of it;...

Today’s experience was far from acceptable, we are a 3 people family who are commons, we usually bring friends with us and we always recommend this place. Unfortunately today, as we crossed the door and the host was writing something, not paying attention. (Absolutely fine, was busy). She looked at us with a disgusting face and without hello/good morning, said, “2 people and the buggy”, we answer yea thank u, without talking start walking backwards, we followed her and said, two minutes meanwhile the table is ready, no thanks no please not an smile. I had to educate her and told her to be more polite and if she was not happy at work to leave. Probably i am just a foreigner more working in this country, but I speak and travel everyday to different places talking to way many people. I will think twice before recommend this place again. The food as always good, but this service is unacceptable, the owner today was not there (he usually is) probably thats the reason of this...

I usually visit pan about once a week for lunch and on today’s visit I left feeling less than happy with the experience. I ordered my usual, three cheese toastie on sourdough. I was served by a young male server who I have to say went above beyond. Whilst eating my sandwich I discovered what I believe to be mould on the crust. I sent the sandwich back to me only to have it retuned and to be told what was clearly mould, was not. I made the decision to not eat the sandwich. I was offered another sandwich but let’s face it who wants another sandwich from a mouldy pan? As I was leaving my table I was approached by a female waiter who was nothing short of rude and condescending telling me she could 100% guarantee it was not mould, despite never having seen said mould. Went to the till to be charged full price. Left hungry and less than impressed. Will find a new cafe for my weekly visits...
