Gelatory — Restaurant in Douglas

I fully endorse the five star reviews. I've visited both outlets many times. This is an authentic Italianesque experience. The owners visit Italy on a regular basis and it shows; having, as one does, visited Italian shops (like, in yer actual Italy,) many times - my wife is an ice cream addict, dear old thing.

N.B. Kristin MW is right to call out the two star review. I'm a fully endorsed (by my wife) miserable old git and I know where the bloke (he must be a bloke) is coming from but the nature of gelaterias is that customer demand can go from feast to famine in the blink of an eye. To serve a 'right-on' gelato takes more than a moment. So, if you have a bit of a wait, this is a great place to 'wake up and smell the coffee/gelato'.

BTW, IMHO, the wall chart, explaining the modus operandi, in the Ramsey outlet is very interesting and might go down a storm if...

This is my favorite gelato shop on the whole island! 💖 It's brand new to Douglas! (There's a smaller sister shop in Ramsey...) but now with this one in Douglas, same great taste, less of a drive 😂. Gelato, milkshakes, desserts, lattes, etc. Every day there are different flavors to try, and a few ongoing staples too.

Side note: They just opened and the owner has kindly been very transparent on social media about working out all the kinks... so for someone to leave a 2-star review opening week? That's pretty low IMO. 😭 This place delivers 5-star handmade excellent quality products and has taken a year of time, effort, energy and I'm sure money to open. We were recommended this place while at Douglas. Google says temporarily closed but it was open when we went there on 28 Dec and place seem to have been newly refurbished.

Friendly staff, really nice tasting ice creams. We got pistachios, raspberry sorbet and mango ripple. Quantity was decent, taste was good.

Place is just 5 mins walk from main bus station/ Isle of Man Packet terminal. There is parking across the street.

We did see other outlets at Ramsey and Peel but they were closed during Christmas maybe.
