After seeing the menu and reading all the great reviews I came excited to Sangria. Restaurant has a very nice decor, perfect for a date and offers some entertainment such as flamenco nights. Unfortunately that is all of good things I can say. The food was terrible. We ordered langustinis, "chorizzo" and artichoke with 2 cocktails. Cocktails were decent. Nothing out of ordinary but pretty good. Than our 3 tapas came, and artichikes was the only thing that was somewhat tasty - but let's be honest it is difficult to go wrong with it. Chorrizo was not even close to real chorizo taste or texture. It was just overpriced sausage and langustini tasted bad and had a specific smell which I think is typical to seafood that is not fresh. After a very bad start we decided to give a try to famous Basque cheesecake to at least finish the evening good. I wish that was the case... It came in baking paper in a dish and when we took a spoon of it we noticed it was more of a paper and burned top than any cheese. By far it is basque cheesecake... Waiter offered to bring other dessert and we took affigato which was pretty good. Service after all is pretty good, atmosphere of the place is great and it has a big potential but food.... that a major disappointed and waaaay overpoced - something to be improved. Not recommend and definitely not...
Read moreNot my first time but definitely my last. The food and prices are good in general, but if you have any problem with a dish they will treat you with arrogance and contempt. I ordered a dish of gnocchi and lamb, and I didn't like the sauce and the meat taste. I asked the waiter if it possible to replace it, he first reproached me that I should have told him before (maybe before I tasted it, or before it was served) and than he told me I have to wait until the chef is free to come to the table, so I waited.. at last he came, and blame me of not knowing how it should taste, and didn't offer anything except oredring a new dish in full price. Needless to say there wasn't any apology about the situation. I was in a good mood and I understood what kind of person (arrogant and grumpy) I'm dealing with, so I decided not to confront him. but I don't think a place with this kind of attitude towards its guests...
Read moreThe service was really good and the place has a nice feel. But the food was mediocre. The place is supposed to be a tapas bar? It is not really. There are no real tapas there (check the menu). The first course dishes we ordered were jamon y melon - semi frozen melon, sour and cold, and a dry pork resembling jamon. The langoustines were quite good, chorizo was more of a local kebab made with lamb and beef, too oily for our taste, and grilled manchego cheese in panco coating. The cheese was the nicest dish altogether. For the main course we ordered paellas. Well, the rice was dry, the shrimps were the smallest variety of frozen shrimps, plus one fresh. The paella tasted mainly of saffron spice and nothing else. Oh, and the tap water tastes of chlorine. I would highly recommend the establishment to install a...
