We haven't been to Rustico several years. Just didn't make it. This evening we arrived without reservation, and expected to wait. It took about 10 minutes until a table was found for us. We placed our order, and got the wine testing glass, asked for a different wine and waited for our Caprese salad and focaccia. When it got to the table we started to dig. Beautiful Mozzarella fresca, beautiful basil leaves, beautiful tomatoes. Someone really pick them one by one. The wine accompanied our meal was something from north Italy, and it was great, too. When we were done our waiter (Amitai) gave us time to enjoy the tastes and took his time (after consulting with us) until he brought the main dishes. My wife took the Rigatoni carbonara and I ordered the beef fillet pappardelle. Both dishes were VERY good and we enjoyed the Parmesan grating ceremony over the plates, and then we enjoyed the dish. Carbonara was great, not as heavy as I make it at home, ham/bacon pieces were in the proper size. Good good good! The pappardelle was great, as well. Just the right amount of sauce, great size of meat chunks, taste delicious! The only thing I wasn't expecting and don't remember it was in the menu - my dish contained mushrooms, which I didn't expect and to my taste took a little of the meat volume (I'd rather have more of the good meat then a meaty mushroom). We concluded with a desert (and got the second one on-the-house, because we were good kids and cleaned our plates... yes, everything was THAT good!) of some pistachio cake on an amazing cherry sauce and whipped mascarpone cream.... VERY yammi. And an Espresso, of course. The service was great. Staff very attentive. A small yard is available in the back. Meal was priced in fair respect to what we felt we got. We will certainly return for another meal, to enjoy the other dishes on the menu. Thank you, Rustico (light during evening seating, where we were seated, is very poor for taking pictures, and I decided the plates needs better lighting to show what they really are, so I took...
Read morePERFECT. The best restaurant I've been to in a while. Simply fantastic. I went there with my friend without a reservation. Still, they let us in. We were seated at a table outside. We had so much fun. Excellent service. Our waiters חיי and לירון were THE BEST. They gave us the recommendations we ordered. Each one was better than the previous one. We ordered pasta פפרדלה ברוטב קלאסי, pizza, and a salad. The pasta was tasty. Absulotely recommended. It was hot and full of flavor. And our waitress put a lot of freshly brushed parmesan on the plate. The pizza was surreal. Crunchy, not too thick or thin, and also full of flavor. Excellent. The salad, I don't recall its name, had mozzarella cheese that was fresh and tasty. When I say everything we ordered was a ten I mean it. The dessert we ordered was recommended by חיי and לירון. The only thing I can say about it is WOW!! We ordered two cocktails beside it. It was perfect. I didn't get to take pictures of everything because we were hungry. Thank you for our waiters. Thank you to the restaurant for this experience. We're DEFINITELY going...
Read moreRustic wood decor with open kitchen bar. Six chefs working non stop to service some 75-100 people. Bustling and seems full everyday. People were turned away as I walked in. Encourage booking in advance to secure a table (Ontopo App).
Suggest starting off with Stone fire Focaccia with olive oil, balsamic, salt, pepper, table herbs. Soft pizza bread form their stone oven.
Followed by “Hunters Bruschetta” which is a bruschetta but with chicken livers. The liver was tender and juicy and topped with herbs/greens. See pic.
They have a classic Bolognese on the menu but was tempted with a Pappardelle with Beef Tenderloin. Nice sized beef pieces served tender and delicious. They add mushrooms too which altogether was a good choice.
Lastly wine, even though they have Italian ones I ventured trying an Israeli red they recommended. It may not be a grand vin of Italy but it was full bodied, rich with berries and better than I expected!
Worth coming back to try other menu items and also...
