The Thai in Har Sainai is one of two (yes, only two) restaurants in Israel that offer authentic Thai cuisine (the other place, Thai House, is located not too far, and is a well known establishment for many years).
The two differ greatly: The Thai in Har Sinai is a casual eatery, very hipster, located near the busy center of Allenby st. The other place (Thai House) is more of a "proper" restaurant.
Here' what we liked about the place: Great hipster design Waiters were very nice and kind Some of the dishes were really great: especially the Som Tam (green papaya salad) and the Pak Choi (arrives with tasty tofu soaked with flavor)
What we didn't like: Some of the dishes were not good: The Pad Thai noodles were amongst the worst we had (you can get better at every cheap Asian place in Tel Aviv): too sweet, noodles too thin and too short. The Tapioca desert barely had any tapioca in it, it was mostly fruit. Unlike the waiters who were kind and professional, the hostess at the entrance (ginger lady with big glasses) was rude and unprofessional. We were the only ones in the restaurant (arrived 5 minutes after openning) and it still took a lot of time to gain her attention. When she finally set us, she had picked a table outside although we wanted to sit inside, and when she moved us inside, she had picked a table which was way to small.
Bottom line: if you know what to order and you are looking for a casual place, give the place a shot. If you are looking for a more proper restaurant experience or not sure what to order, stick...
Read moreOh boy where to start... We were 3 girls celebrating my bday. We were greeted by the super cute host that sat us at the bar right away. Love to sit by the bar it's the best seat in the house always. Noam the barman made our drinks, the margarita and the gin cocktails and we got a couple of shots on da House. All perfect. David the gifted manager 🤩 helped us hungry gals with deciding which dishes to get..
We had the following: Yam pla - 10/10 light and delicious sauce Kaeng lueang pla - 10/10 just wow Plaa gian - 10/10 greens were soooo good A divine special of pork chop - 10/10 Kao soy - 9/10 incredible stock/soup but would like it more with beef And a whole lot of white rice And panacota for dessert.
All the sauces were tasty and unique in flavor. Perfectly spicy. We went up to 2 peppers and it was rmuch easier than I expected.
All the flavors were ON point. After a recent visit to Thailand I can honestly say the flavors are the best and most authentic out of all of the Thai options in Tel Aviv. The only thing I would suggest is another dessert option thats more "Israeli friendly" Maybe a cool spin on banana roti. I'm sure they get this a lot but why not really?
Thank you guys, we will def come and try...
Read moreThe dining experience was exceptional with a delightful ambiance. The service was attentive and efficient. We indulged in a variety of dishes, all of which impressed us. The Tom Yum soup was prepared exactly as it should be. While the papaya salad was enjoyable, it could have benefitted from a touch of spiciness, reminiscent of the flavors from Bangkok. The chicken wings were flawlessly crispy and accompanied by delectable sauces. The salt-covered, grilled sea bream was expertly prepared and cooked to perfection. The beverages were equally delightful, especially the coconut drink which my sister couldn't resist and ended up ordering...
