Salty Soup SOS! 🧂😵 As an Asian, I have a say in this.
Oh, boy, let me tell you about my culinary adventure at this restaurant. It was like a rollercoaster of flavor, but not in a good way! The dishes were so loaded with MSG, I felt like I entered the realm of the 'Monosodium Salty Games.' 🧂🎮 The goose soup? Oh, it was so salty that even a deep-sea fish would scream "That's too much!" 🐟💦
I couldn't help but imagine the chef adding MSG with a shovel, yelling "More! More!" like a mad scientist creating a salty monster. 🧪🧂 And when we tried to eat it, we had to call in reinforcements because we could barely handle the saltiness. We were guzzling water like it was the last resource on Earth! 💦🥵
I thought the dish was competing in a "Salty Olympics," aiming for a new world record, but unfortunately, our taste buds were the casualties of that contest. 😵🏆 It felt like our tongues were on vacation at the Dead Sea, but without the relaxing spa experience. 🌊💆♀️
The experience was so intense, it made me question if I had accidentally wandered into the "MSG-Maze Challenge." It's like the restaurant had a secret mission to see how much salt their customers could handle without turning into human pretzels. 🥨
If you're up for a wild, salty ride, this restaurant might be your destination. But for those seeking a more balanced flavor experience, I'd recommend steering clear of this MSG marathon. Your taste buds will thank you! 😉👅
btw picture this: I waltz into this restaurant, all excited for some yummy grub. But oh boy, the service was like a comedy sketch gone wrong! Our waiter was on a mission to close the kitchen super early at 16:45, and he was so insistent, it felt like he was auditioning for a drama role. I even confirmed the opening hours with another waitress the day before, and boy, talk about mixed signals! This place must have been designed by magicians because it's magically popular despite the hiccups. Maybe they have a secret spell that bewitches people! Trust me, as an Asian who's had some finger-lickin' authentic Thai food before, I'm not easily fooled...
Read moreI came with my wife after a long time of hearing about this restaurant and waiting for a good enough opportunity to come to Tel Aviv. I must say the experience wasn't bad - but due to all the expectations and the mythological status of the place, I had greater expectations. The appetizers are significantly better than the main course we took - the waitress that was nice and professional, did encourage us, politely to take more appetizers instead of the main courses and we should've listened to her. We took the Morning Glory and PLA NN TAO TI'YAO which were very nice. On the contrary to the KOI NEUA (a well spiced in asian style tartar steak with fish sauce) which was tasty at first due to the good spicing but had a funny smell to it, which I thought was coming from the fish sauce. Two hours later I discovered the smell was due to the meat not being fresh enough to be served raw. Seems like the standards of handling raw meat in this place were not reviewed for a while so I'll suggest staying away from uncooked dishes if you visit there. The main course GAENG NO MAI NEUA was tasty and very satisfying and nothing more than that.
I can't say it's an amazing place, at the same time I can't say it's a bad place - it feels like a place that used to be amazing but lost its touch. The appetizers, even though overpriced, were interesting and tasty.
Bottom line - cool place, impressive wine menu, new interesting flavours - but if the cost is taking the car and trying to park it in Tel Aviv for 70 Shekels appetizers (and a minor food poisoning) - the Tel Aviv food scene has much better...
Read moreWasn't that amazing Friday night dining, though came with high expectations by friends recommendations. Arrived right on time, after we tried asking to come earlier, but the request was declined politely. Waited 20 minutes outside for the seat next to the bar to be available. Had to oreder seats several weeks in advance. The bar is small, 4 maybe 5 couples, and share space and activity with the kitchen activity of "in and out" pass-through other part is right in front of the reception desk and restaurant entrance, so I can't recommend those bar seats. And I do enjoy bar seats almost everywhere I go. The menu has wide options to choose from. Both of us picked and shared 3 small dishes to start with. Tartar was tasty and super spicy as mentioned in the menu, but the pomelo and peanut dish with fried fish crumbs - couldn't find any evidence of fish existence. Can't even remembered the 3rd. Hitting low enjoyment points, after having high expectations, decided to take 1 main dish for both, contained with home made coconut milk. It was ok, same like any other take away noodles shop. Barman was nice and cooperating, so we took by his advice and try the tapioca dessert. The fruit flavor felt like taken from a tin can, with tapioca sticky chunks swimming in icy coconut pool. Sorry for the low grade, but this place got the potential to do much better. Didn't enjoy much, so had no interest of taking a single picture to...
