Pardon me, but I won’t be handing out stars this time. Instead, let the length and detail of these paragraphs serve as my measure of enthusiasm for Prozdor, a small but consistently packed burger spot in Tel Aviv that’s quickly become my personal gold standard.
Prozdor, whose name translates to “corridor” in Hebrew, began humbly enough and still occupies a snug space. Yet, this tight fit feels intentional, amplifying the lively buzz of customers who flock here, often straight from the nearby beach where volleyball nets sway and windsurf glide. The vibe feels almost Californian - sun, sea, and good energy rolling right up to the doorstep. Young, cool staff serve an array of burgers that are anything but run-of-the-mill, plus crispy fries, local craft beers, and a few sweet surprises. Some staffers can rattle off the names of a dozen Israeli microbreweries before you’ve even put down the menu, and I wouldn’t doubt it.
Each burger feels meticulously crafted, as if the team spent hours perfecting the patty-to-topping ratio. The results pay off in every bite: juicy, flavorful, and best enjoyed alongside a cold beer and the comforting hum of happy diners. The fries, meanwhile, could probably run for office and win on a platform of “everybody deserves a perfect fry.” Between the food, the ambiance, and that breezy beachfront just steps away, it’s little wonder that Prozdor stands as a reference point against which other Tel Aviv burger and street-food joints are judged.
In a city that’s no stranger to culinary creativity, Prozdor shines without gimmicks - just honest, delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. If the length of this review doesn’t speak for itself, let me be clear: this place sets the standard, and I’m more than happy to linger in this “corridor” of...
Read moreWe visited the place a few times. It has quite an extensive menu with a good selection of burgers, drinks, and sides.
The waiting time was minimal, even though we ordered for a large group (5 burgers). Everything was ready within 10 minutes. We ordered the meat cooked to medium-well, and it was delicious. No complaints about the meat.
The burger toppings were quite tasty, although in some burgers, the toppings were so abundant that they overpowered the flavor of the meat. However, this wasn’t a major issue. (It’s worth noting that the toppings can’t be customized, as burgers are served exactly as listed on the menu.)
Service: We reserved a table two days in advance, and upon arrival, we were seated without any issues. But then the trouble began. Every 5 minutes, the host came over and asked us to sit closer to the table because the venue has limited space—even though the hall was empty at the time.
I want to add that we were already sitting quite compactly to begin with, and this situation could be described at length because I’ve never experienced anything like it before. It was so unpleasant that it made us want to leave.
Price: Fairly reasonable—not expensive but not cheap either.
Conclusion: The food is tasty, the service is normal, but the host needs significant...
Read moreRead the edit! One of the best burger places in Tel-Aviv and maybe Israel. The selection is so wide and all of the burgers look so good I had a hard time choosing. Every dish has a special part to it and the meat itself is excellent. Apart for the meat itself you have to try the onion rings, and overall its really a great place to eat and hang out! Edit: After eating here a few times, I've come to the conclusion that Prozdor isn't really a "fixed" experience, in that I mean that sometimes it can be really good, and the other times very disappointing. I ate here 4 times in the past, two times I enjoyed the food and had a great time, the other two times my dish was completely butchered, which is not something I expect of such a high quality restaurant. For example, one of the times I was disappointed, I ordered the juicy Lucy burger, which is supposed to be extremely cheesy inside, and not only it had almost no cheese inside, it was very burnt from the outside and completely raw on the inside, when I asked for a medium doneness. I'd stay away from this place...
