The place looks great, tucked away in a tiny alleyway of Tel Aviv's vibrant Levinsky neighborhood. We were drawn to it immediately by the buzzing atmosphere and stylish appearance.
We ordered mezze to share and the house lemonade. While waiting for our food to arrive, the waitress continuously squeezed her way past our table, pushing and shuffling my leg every single time due to the limited space to the next table. She did not apologize once, did not suggest for us to change tables - other tables were free and clearly less in her way - or even ask me to make space. So be it, I thought.
However, service was not getting better. Our food was "served" dish by dish; "served" as in merely disposed on the table without any comment or explanations for the separation of several items to the same order. The lemonade was not brought altogether.
Once we had barely finished our plates, the waitress cleaned the table with a wet cloth, again without addressing us in any fashion, throwing half of the crumbs on the table - which she had caused by shuffling by our table again, pushing my arm out of her way while I was putting a spoon full of tabouli to my mouth - on my fiancรฉe's shoes.
We asked for the check, paid in cash and were about to leave when the waitress came back, asking for a tip. Asking itself might be understandable, as in Israel a 10% tip is customary for service, which is usually not included in restaurants' prices. Yet, her way of asking was as brazen as the service was bad - which is why we did not give any.
She was clearly upset, as were we by this uncomfortable and disappointing dinner experience. We can only wish for the place to emphasize on better service for each table rather than serving more tables at the same time in the future.
The food itself was good, though. While not special, yet solid basics of...

I live nearby and love to have their chai while seating on the street watching the ppl around. Thursday night is very busy and vivid, the vibe is simply full of different colors personalities, and very LGBTQ friendly. Pricing is ok forwards to the...
ย ย ย Read moreThe ambience is nice, but that's about all. I had the fish and while the fish itself was cooked well, most of what was remaining was inedible. A tomato core, roasted onion that was completely raw, etc. The food was bland and the dish was really disjointed overall. I had one server literally roll her eyes at me, and had to ask twice and wait for over 30 minutes for my bill when servers were just standing around. Really just wanted to have a nice meal on my last night in Israel and...
