ANTICA TAVERNA DI CAPOMULINI — Restaurant in Acireale

Wonderful food, BUT: As foreign tourists we didn't feel welcome. We got overcharged for the wine, which we ordered as vino della casa but came in an already opened (!) and posh wine bottle. We realized our mistake only at receiving the bill. The wine wasn't good either.

Additionally we asked if they could organise a taxi. After letting us wait for half an hour, the manager, who seemed annoyed at us from the start, decided to drive us herself at crazy speed and charged us 15€ for 1,5 km.

I honestly can recommend this restaurant for the excellent food but the service leaves a lot...

Stopped for just a small cocacola (330 ml) for which I was charged 5 euros. Shocked by the price I checked the menu which indicated 1L bottles were 5 euros and small bottles were 3. When i told this to the owner she wouldn’t accept her “mistake” despite literal evidence in front of her eyes. After a bit of back and forth one of the other workers gave me a second small bottle and seemed to argue in italian with the owner, I believe agreeing with me. Resolved at the end but definitely not because of the owners help. We are tourists but not idiots so...

Abbiamo prenotato per il ferragosto. Il locale è nell'insieme molto carino, ben arredato, luminoso e accogliente. La proprietaria sa come mettere a proprio agio i clienti e come coccolarli. Per quanto riguarda il cibo, le pietanze sono tutte a base di pesce freschissimo. Personalmente non ho gradito i due primi, ma è solo una questione di gusto perché gli altri commensali hanno apprezzato. Tuttavia, la giornata per me è stata un inferno. Nonostante fossero presenti dei condizionatori (troppo piccoli per raffreddare la sala) e dei ventilatori, si soffocava ugualmente, mancava l'aria. Tutti al tavolo, inclusa mia figlia di 2 anni, eravamo in un bagno di sudore. Mangiare in quelle condizioni è stato penoso, almeno per me che soffro di pressione bassa. Ho solo spizzicato, senza poter gustare i piatti con la giusta attenzione. Il personale non era ben organizzato. Abbiamo atteso tanto l'arrivo dei primi (a quanto pare si sono dimenticati di noi, perché la proprietaria ha dovuto richiamare un cameriere). Insomma, non è stata una piacevole esperienza. Il locale merita una seconda possibilità, magari nei giorni non festivi. Inoltre, credo ci sia molto da migliorare in fatto di organizzazione e di comfort ...
